newboost
I have been looking around the web and have not been able to find what I am looking for. I have a microtech ltx12 computer and a alpind double din head unit. what i am trying to do is link the 2 so i can see what the engine is doing rather than having gauges all around the dash. this would be to make it all look factory as possible. I know that this might be something that is not possible but any suggestions would be helpful. Aidan
A lot of people, myself included would love to have this kind of functionality in our cars. I've dreamed of having an awesome display unit like the GTR's for so long now. Being able to add in as many sensor as you wont would be a modders/tuners dream come true. As far as I'm aware, however, its near impossible to get it to come through your Alpine Head Unit. Theres only one realistic option that may work, it would involve making a Car pc that has a video out that can connect to your head unit. Thats if yours has a video input connection. This kind of mod has been done before, however there is no off the shelf kit with software to get the computer to display the information in a pleasing manner. Actually getting the computer to retrieve sensor information is not the hard task in the mod. Its the custom programming and design work needed to create the Display. Some guy did it for an RX7 I think, but not a lot is known about how he got it all to work. If you find anything during your continued search, let us know. Best of luck Aidan Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274843-using-lcd-screen-to-show-data/#findComment-4658450 Share on other sites
USU_R33
have a look this one, blitz R-vit DS data link."The R-VIT connects to Japanese vehicles with an OBD II diagnostic port. These are mostly post 1996 vehicles. The R-VIT can display all the data from the vehicles ECU and its sensors on the inbuilt LCD screen." http://www.blitz.co.jp/products/electonic/...ds/r-vit_ds.htm and you can find it on the ebay for $500 USD here, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Blitz-R-Vit...sQ5fAccessories Edited June 17, 2009 by USU_R33 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/274843-using-lcd-screen-to-show-data/#findComment-4663235 Share on other sites
mgb2002
I have been looking into this also and found two more systems: - HKS CAMP2. http://www.hksusa.com/info/?id=3474 - Magden Automotive M.1b Performance Computer (As seen in the new Fast & Furious movie in the blue R34 GTR) http://magden-auto.com/products/1 But both are pretty expensive systems tho...
