NRG Carbon Fiber Hood Dampers

These are some pretty good quality hood dampers and apparently can support the stock and also aftermarket hoods.

Not only is it great to show off when you open the engine bay, but it makes working under there alot easier. It also raises the hood alot more than with the stock hood prop. IMO all cars from factory should come with these things!

Installation took about 30 minutes, and was very easy and straight forward. There is alot of info and DIY on these simple mods on the US G35 forums.

Here are some pics, just finished installing them not long ago, its a bit dark!

Also, the Motordyne Iso Thermal plenum spacer i ordered arrived, so looking forward to do another DIY on that item :)

Nice Mark,

Looking forward to receiving my spacer from you also, once all the items arrive of course, what a pain.

I was thinking of getting Hood Dampers for mine also, saw them on the Riverside eBay Shop.

How much did you pay for yours? And where did you get them from?

Thanks mate.

Got them from a trader on G35driver.com "JDMAutosports"

Ryan is excellent with communication, he is one of the best sellers i have dealt with over there. Ended up paying around $190 AUD delivered for the Carbon Fiber ones.

Nice work Mark, did you have to drill any holes to attach the struts or is it just using what's already there?

I'm not sure why the car didn't come with them in the first place? After all, it's meant to be a luxury sports. :)

yeh you dont have to drill anything at all.

all you have to do, is remove 1 bolt from the fender, and replace it with their own bolt.

then, you just remove the plastic cover over the hood hinges, and then remove the top bolt, and slide on their bracket, and put the bolt back on.

its such an easy installation to do.

hate to butt in, but $190 is expensive (and I just wanna give you guys the heads-up). I got mine for approx $100 delivered from Taiwan and they are carbon fibre look also...
