hey guys, i have this small concern for this noise i occasionally hear when my engine is really really cold. obviously now that winter is here it has started to occur once again. i have not heard this noise since last winter. i never hear it in summer, autumn or spring.

i have checked my bearings for AC and PS, they run smooth and don't feel like they are on the way out...

i do feel a little scared that this could be pointing to an engine bearing...

the engine usually doesn't make the noise the second you start it, it will appear within 5-10 secs and then kind of comes and goes a bit while the engine warms up...once above 30-40deg its completely gone.

I had this issue once and it turned out to be the alternator. It only happened when very cold, but only lasted for about 5 minutes before subsiding.

It worked fine but just didn't like the cold.
