PEDDERS - anyone used any of their products & what did you think of 'em? have been too scared in the past but seems like i mightn't have any other options :D

The situation is i hit the ruff in full lock straight on and the steering isn't quite right (nothing specific eg bias)

So i thought the go might be a wheel alignment and some new control arm bushes (supposedly ready for change) might sort it out.

I thought the quick fix might be pedders. does anyone have any advice as to the next steps or preferred products to start fixing/upgrading steering?

Is there any helpful threads that others have seen?

i went to pedders wen i first got my 32 and they dogged me pretty harrd,

i had only had the car for less than a month and i was after new front bushings - they did this and they also replaced my cut springs (was about to get coilovers) and a bunch of other random shit, without asking and charged me for it too, unfortunately i didnt put much of a fight etc n just delt with it (regrettably) =[

but yeeh i was about to put coilovers in - and then pedders took most of my coilover money

i wudnt recommend them to anyone with an import

:)

with that said however - they are franchised based i beleive, so service no doubt varies from store to store

2 reasons why i wouldnt go to pedders:

there stuff is generally shit

they spend more time training theirs salesman than their mechanics, they are skilled at selling u shit u dont need and for more than u should pay. unfortunately this is the go with a lot of places like this.

go to a suspension place which specialising in suspension, not sales.

Using Pedders would be like getting a service at ultra tune... If it were me i'd find a specialist that knows skylines.

ha ha ... that's farkt ... that's as bad as misfiring a money shot at your own face!

so it's definitely a no way to pedders then ...

I personaly dont mind the store in dandenong if your in the SE subs, i had an alignment there after a nasty gutter hugging session, they said, "we couldnt do a full alignment for everything, but we did our best, and we wont charge you the full amount" i said buety, that was about 5 months ago and i havnt had a trouble with my alignment.

I plan to go there to get my ball join boots done, also i was talking to them about their coilover setup they have going, apparently theyve sold a quite a few to trackers and street guys and they have good raps.

The store in dandenong i actualy got recomended to from here, and there all older guys, no young guns like the rest of the places.

But thats me.

Was in a reputable workshop in Yarraville Vic this week that deals mostly with "race brakes" and I saw a 550 marenello up on a hoist sporting a brand new set of coilovers. Pedders coilovers to be precise.

The owner had binned something much more exotic for the pedders gear. Either he knows something we dont or he has lost his marbles.

If you a buying a set of shock my advise would be always buy a reputable brand that has built its reputation over years of R&D a few examples Bilstien, Ohlans, Kony, Tien avoid cheap (generally shit) brands like the plauge. This includes all of the seemingly exotic looking shit that comes out of china taiwain that might look the goods on the outside with shiny aliminium body reomote canister's etc wich seem quite popular with the drift scene. Remember that the drift scene is not about grip and handling so any opinion on shocks based on their experiance I would take with a grain of salt. This also includes some of the biger name japanese stuff from tuning companys that are not suspension specific companies and all the local companies that specialize in generic shopping trollies.

Pedders use White line components just painted red and badged as there own ...

I have Pedders sports rider suspension with pedders lowered springs in my R32

I also have a full nolathane bush kit throughout the car

Have a Pedders larger rear sway bar upgrade aswell

I can vouch for there suspension this isn't the first one of my cars which has there gear either they are pretty damn stiff depends on the spring rate of springs that you buy aswell...

White line regularly test out there suspension products at Wakefield park and have good R&D and they are Australian made

As for there service in store I am also with you guys that they are not the best bunch to deal with and tend to rip you a new one when ever you get things done ...

Good thing being in the trade is trade discounts and only buy parts from them don't get them to do your work ...

As for alignments in Canberra there are only 2 shops that I recommend

Inline suspension in Queanbeyan and Capital steering and suspension in fyshwick

hr33gts - cheers for the advice

but i only just read it and i've returned from a quick visit to John UAS and i've now got my itemised quote of goodies to save for.

it seems like it's going to be a bilstein purchase, springs TBA.

the last 33 had them on (UAS again) and all was well so looking forward to getting ém again :P

I've had SportsRyder in two cars and I've been really happy with it. Got Bilstein under the GT-R though. I wouldn't have any hesitation putting Pedders under a skyline, as long as the outlet is knowledgable and knows how to get the setup right.

    • Put a hand on an injector and see if that's what the buzzing is. You might be triggering the injectors by moving off idle command.
    • Ah, should have been clearer. Currently has a flex sensor installed all good to go.    like u mentioned, I’ve only ever known the car on e85, I might hate 98, but I have to try it out first. Everyone says the -5 turbos get pretty laggy on 98 octane tho…
    • Duncan , the plan is to get the down pipes done then I book it in for the full tune . Most likely late May , that's the plan.
    • The suspense is killing me lol.  Are you going to buy a flex sensor, then add the 98 tune to your current tune?  It sounds like your just going to delete the current tune and re-tune the car on 98 =/ If you've only known your car on e85, I don't think it will be long before you install the flex sensor and go back to running e85 when its available lol.
    • Currently on an e85 only tune, but I barely get 200km from a full tank. Makes going for longer drives difficult, especially when u leave Melbourne metro as there aren’t many united servos, hence why I’m thinking of going more of a 98 setup.    And yes the smell lol. Any drive afterwards I need to have a shower and wash all the clothes I was wearing, it’s like someone made a Calvin clown e85 perfume and sprayed it all over me haha
