lol at steveo

lucky I got a passenger ride before I ducked off for the day at texi

awesome car man

awesome day, really good chance to learn how the car properly handles after the engine change. needs over come some under-steer, new suspension raising rear spring height and lowering the front a tad. well that and more grip!

after a little experiment, i found out my induction hood actually inducts air! from as little as 40km/h there positive pressure trying to make it way into the engine bay from the windscreen. now all i have to do is find a way to use it.

Becareful with just letting air flow in from the bonnet, it can cause too much air pressure inside the engine bay and limit air flow through your radiator.

I've already noticed it, it behaves it self a lot better at texi's than it does on the road. it gets hot, not too hot just a tad more than normal, and it starts idling at 1500rpm to speed up a clutch fan that no longer exists. I'll have to block the induction hood up until i find a way to use it.

next on the cards is suspension work mainly involving putting the R32 GTR cradle in, and get new rims, thinking 17*8 front and 17*9 rear. needs a lot more grip!

3.7 ratio diff is in! lot more legs now and more fuel economy. has a cool diff whine that increases as your speed does, kinda sounds like a straight cut gear set. hope this doesn't mean it'll go bang though.

    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
