A slight top up should not hurt.

But I remember there is a "DOT Number" you have to look out for.

ie. DOT3, DOT4, DOT5, DOT5.1

This guy, who made the webpage explaining the DOT types is Not an expert but gives you an idea from his past experiences with car enthusiast.

But not to get paranoid, just double check with you mechanic and again, a slight top up will not hurt.

thanks heaps for that mate, is there a DOT Number for power steering fluid? because i had a look on the bottle of it and all it says that it is suitable for most power steering systems, no mention as to different ratings of it.

That's Brake Fluid!

My bad!

Your talking about Powersteering Fluid. I get confused with the positions of the Brake fluid and the Powersteering fluid reservoirs.

OK forget what I said, it's all good, go ahead and top it up.
