I have recaros in my stagea which were R33 GTR skyline. I know because the recaro boxes actually had 33gtr skyline stamped on.

Im short and whilst they are lower I have no problem in seeing over the bonnett. might be different with stock GTR seat but I would have thought they will be fine

I'm soon to have a set in my car, Darrin. They're from an R32 and are being re-upholstered at the moment.

Either way, I have the factory seats set to the lowest setting now, and I'm around 5'10" tall.

I have R33GTR seats in mine and I'm 5'10

You do sit lower, but its a comfortable low, and no problems seeing over the dash at all.

Thanks for the reply's. I use to have Garage Impul seats seats in mine with skyline rails and they were lower approx 30-40mm than stock seats. I am 5' 10" as well

I have a spare set of stagea Bride rails, so tosing up between using them with new bride seats, either Euro II or Digo graduation cloth and retrimming the rears and doors to suit, or I also have a spare series 2 manual rear seat and door trims which are almost identical to R33 GTR cloth. Using GTR seats will be alot cheaper option, but the Brides will look good :D

Was also looking at buying s/hand recaro's and retrimming them, but the trimmer wants aprrox $1000 just for the fronts. Might as well buy new ones.

Nick, what is it costing to get the gtr seats done? What sort of cloth?

That's pretty much what I did with mine.

Here's a pic so you can see how the seats and trim go nicely together.

I have 33GTR seats in the 32, if i keep the stagea they might go into it and buckets in the 32, or more gtr seats, they are sooooooooo comfy. stagea ones i dont find supportive enough in the lower back, so the harder GTR seats are great. i am 6'2", and my shoulders are getting on the high side for the GTR seats though.

The rough quote so far is $1400 for all cloth, or $2400 for all leather, so I'm guessing that the final cost will be somewhere in the middle, as I'm going half-and-half. That, though, is for the whole interior: front and rear seats plus door trims. I picked the colours and materials the other night, so it's not too far off, hopefully.

I've got the R32 GT-R rear seats still, so I really should advertise that, and after the rest is sorted, I'll have a pair of Stagea front seats to get rid of too.

I want to know HOW much lower do you sit with GTR seats

Hard to see over the bonnet?

Hi Darrin,i don`t have GTR seat`s but 32GTST seat`s & you sit some 90 mm lower & it`s a lot different looking over Bonnet but it`s so much more comfortable as you now feel apart of the car instead of sitting on the Couch,post-36964-1245453736_thumb.jpgpost-36964-1245453822_thumb.jpg

What rails are you blokes using?

Pretty intererested in swapping my seats for ones that acutally hold you in. Are you able to use your existing rails to suit GTR seats?

Edit: After using the search function, I found the answer I was looking for

Hmmm, I already have the standard Stagea seats set at the lowest point at the back and a little bit higher at the front to provide some under-thigh support, so I wonder what the new seats will be like.

I (finally) got my recaros fitted the other day: it took custom sandwich plates between the seats and the Bride rails: perfect seating height: maybe 10cm lower than standard: very happy: haven't even bothered with a quote on full retrim yet: I am waiting to get my manual console first...
