oh and the sliding action by the guys in the cool down laps :)

What sliding? :)

Didn't blow anything. Although Campbell broke my clutch pedal about 15 kms from home so I had to drive the last bit rev matching.

Troy... I've just been drifting too much. haha. It's amazing what more power has revealed about my car. Lots to do to sort it out suspension wise. Or was it aero? haha

I was 0.8 of my PB and that was done with 20-30kw's less.

very true on the steering ability of adam in big red, takes balls to go flat out in a car that powerful. there were plenty of moments that looked hairy but always looked in control.

haha the only guy not listening and turning around in that little drivers briefing is me :) must have gotten bored with the breifings after they made us sit through that stupid throphy presentation in the morning :)

Yep Dane had what looked to be a trouble free day and heaps of laps. Was awesome to see as I know how it feels to have a car in the build for so long. Congrats man great to see you back out there.

As for Big Red jeeezzz Trutrack have transformed it in to a new car. Had an absolute blast and very happy with the results. Most importantly im happy that the car is finally getting the results that I (and Brisby) had always wanted.

Well done to Justin and WRX club for putting on a great day.

Ive uploaded some in car and out car footage.

Looks like a different car!

So you still running the same suspension, just a few tweaks and alignment?

LOL, its been a fun 24hrs. Last night i was payign tuk tuk drivers to do circle work until they got them up on two wheels and almost roll. now that a GTSt is going quick i think i might just spend my money on that...espcially since me or my car wont see a track for a while to come

Some data from the day. Have overlayed my previous best time of 1.36.8 against my new PB of 1.35.6

Like I said before, I was all over the place on the weekend. I was slower around the sweeper and through the flip flop and still managed to knock 1.2 seconds off. Data says there is a 1.34.5 there if I hold more speed through those two bits.

Will have to wait until October to find out.

Despite note setting a blistering time (this was my first circuit session in the silvia) I had a blast and learned a heap about the car. I started out running about 2mins and got that down to 1:47.9 by the end of the day through a combination of feeling more confident behind the wheel, trusting the new brake setup more and winding in as much camber as possible as per Ryan's tips. Also, I'll be getting hold of some decent rubber shortly, if only to stop people telling me that I could take X seconds off my lap time if I wasn't running Wan Li street tyres lol

Thanks to everyone who was involved in organising the day and a quiet thanks to Justin for not having too much of a go at me for continuing to go way too hard after the checkered flag, thankfully I didn't do any damage with that big off at the end of the day :P

As usual, the night was just as enjoyable though I felt bad for Bec having to wait so long for her food! As an aside, I'm not drinking any shots that come from Campbell...

Given the car survived... I'll see some of you at DECA :(

What a great day, fantastic work by the Rex club. The sessions were coming up really quickly, everything seemed to be going smoothly.

Thanks Adz, appreciate it mate. You were absolutley flying out there! Nice work, must be good to be getting the times after all these years building and testing. What GT-R's?? :(

Troy, I was happy with how the car ran. No dramas, engine felt strong, if a little slow, I was struggling a lot finding third gear in the new 'box and the car was trying to spit me off the track on it's 4.5 year old tyres and with no wheel alignment despite changing steering rack bushes but apart from that it was all good! Managed the practice, two sessions and then passenger laps before I decided to pack up as I'd run out of fuel and had an hour and a half sleep so thought it best to call it quits. I was 4 seconds off my PB there, so wasn't going anywhere near as quickly as I would have liked, but I was really happy to get the laps on the car, and find out what I need to get sorted prior to HH next month. :) Also good to get my first spin out of the way too :P

Also, a congrats to Dean who cranked a 1:35 out yesterday in his S14, great work mate!

again, well done adz! that clean lap vid is light years from previous. Also great to see you back in the good car Dane.

Looking over the times the biggest standout is that 1600 that apparently has 70kw. to do a 39.8 and beat all the other datsuns, by a fair whack, is unbelievable. The next closest datsun in nearly 4 seconds away with double the power? im boggled. am i missing something? is he the guy with 70kw?

i had a great day looking back. i know there is more time in it as my fastest time was set in the first session, it was just bad luck i didnt seem to get a clear lap... or couldnt stay on the track. Mick and i like quite a few people managed to paint the car brown, my excursion from the sweeper to the flag point and micks goofing around in the muddiest part of the track made for some fun times.

Bring on Calder in September and Winton in October.

Cheers Ryan :P

Not doing HH next month?

A lot of people were spearing off the track on the sweeper on Saturday, Russ looked to have a wild ride in front of me in the second session!

That is strange about the Datto. He overtook me at one point, but then I caught up through the back section and he was actually holding me up a bit before the session finished. He must have been super quick through the first part of the track as I wasn't going quickly. It was the blue one right?

That was the blue one parked next to me up the top of the pits. I spoke to him late in the day and he said he'd run a 1:39. I dunno about his power but his suspension setup is mint and he was tweaking it all day.

What he lacks in outright power he'd certiainly make up in corner speed, 70kW does sound low though.

LAG was only 1 second slower than him... not 4

but still... twice the power....

What were you doing out there Leigh? just bumming around??? put some effort in!! :P

I had an absolute blast with you guys out there on Saturday. It was my first real grip day as im usually drifting instead haha... The WRX guys did a fantastic effort running the day, one of the smoothest track days i have ever been to.

Cant wait to get back out there just got to find a new shell after i put the car into the wall on Sunday :D
