crushing cars will definately help stop hoons, and bring world peace of course

This is one of the reasons why it may happen

High Performance cars aren't always the issue, quite a number of times on my way to work I see a lot of mindless people. Just this week, 2-3 times i have seen people overtake into on coming traffic in the wrong spots. Just the other day i saw some sort of work Ute excessively speeding, dangerous driving, almost crashing into cars, with more excessive speeding, and also overtaking with undue car. I would have to say all the cars i have seen doing dangerous driving are some Commodores, and little shit box cars such as Barina's, work Utes, 4wd's, etc etc....it just amazes me that these people get away with it, don't get any fines, and then there is us or other car enthusiasts that get picked on and automatically get labeled as a hoon, and have to suffer there consequences, the laws are F'd.

Just today, I had a Holden Zafira (I think) almost slam into the back of me at 60-70 kmh because of following too close - possibly inattentive driving - I dont know. They hit up the shoulder to avoid collision! or so it seemed...

i think its gotten to the point that we're going to have to arrange for a counter campaign, get some statistics for the last 10 years about each fatality and the circumstances.

graph such variables as age of driver, gender, driving experience, make and model of car, time and weather conditions, etc etc etc

i think that'd probably be the only way one could dispel the 'hoon' stereotype. mind you, the dickheads that have caused trouble the last few months have done nothing to aid to the image of anyone who drives a skyline/supra/wrx/stag/batmobile.... the way the media portray it that we are all hell bent on running our precious cars into a wall or another motorist is a bit of a laugh. I was speaking to a cop at Holden Hill on Wed while I was reporting an internet fraud, and when he gave me a 'victims of crime' booklet i flipped to the part where it refers to the media and I said 'I really like your section on the media" and many a lol was had about the media

In any case, Its going to be a very very hard thing for any court to declare within the >current< laws. The real funny thing is that traditionally, if a man was to commit an offence, then the man was punished. If he used a weapon to commit the crime, the weapon was not punished, and nor was the mans immediate dependants. This law runs counter to commonsense as well as legal precedent. That doesn't mean they can't/won't change the law to make it legal (which I suppose most people would be nonplussed about their rights being eroded...) However its interesting to note that the bikie laws in both SA and NSW have ground to a halt upon appeal to the supreme court about the constitutional (read - federal interpretation) legality. If the supreme court has any sense it'll strike the laws down and the dumbass politicions in SA and NSW will actually have to do their job for a change, rather than blaming any set group without any basis upon our current law

Thats a great point, a cars a weapon, take it away the user will find another one.. In the end crusing cars will just be a waste of time, it wont actually cut down the amound of 'hoons' because they will just find other cars. I posted on there saying what if the dole is paying for your car loan.. Tax payers money down the drain if the car is crushed..

Just another political scare tactic imo. Fair enough to impound serial offenders cars, but crushing is taking it a little too far. Possibly just another attempt at trying to assimilate us with the U.S. again
