How to get semi-light scratches out of paint?

Hi every1,

Some mutherf#@#$@ decided to tag the back of my car, albeit it was dusty so i guess they wanted to write their name in it.. which i was fine with until i discovered the tool they used scratched their tag into my paint....

the scratches are fairly light but still visible.. whats the best product to use to get rid of light scratches... isit possible? i tried using that glide on glaze stuff and buffed that.. didn't work.. tho it looks a lil shinier...

Try to buy a peoduct call "Turtle WAX" comes in lipstick form.

if its only light scratch it will cover it with same colour paint stick.

and easily buff off.

if not... well you jsut have live with it

damm it some poeple dont have respect for other people's property.

Meguiars Scratch X worked for me

get a good cut and polish

and cut it back

glide on glaze is for shine

you need something a little stronger that will basically eat away a little clear coat which is where the bulk of the scratch is and then you buff that off and then stick a bit of 3M or mothers glaze shite on and good as new. if the scratch is still visible then the scratch is not a "light" scratch

not to get anyones nose out of joint but avoid cutting and polishing your car .

If you do it - ensure you limited it to once a year as each time your reducing your paint layers and make it more prone to fading and cracking etc. For that matter you should wax your car rather than polish as polishing removes paint where as wax adds a protective coating

Meguires Scratch X is good schtuff for light scratching and waxing is the way to go.

Butt... I have not had to try to get rid of a scratch made by an idiot with some sharp object.

I bought some meguires scratch x and quickwax today, I will try them out next sunday.

stay away from turtle wax with the 'chipstick' - not good stuff at all

i find meguliars scratch x works well, but only for a month or so - i suppose the permamenet solution is a respray. bit of a pain in the ass
