R33_Dude
I'm feeling the 1JZ love at the moment actually. For a real straight six though - check out a L24/L26 with triple webers. Or one of those crazy tripple weber L32 strokers. They sound insane! (B1) MR_fanny
you must be an engineer right? mmm...i dunno. I think an engineer would have picked up his spelling mistake in the heading Unless his name is How. madbung
Don't forget the grand daddy of them all. Jaguars xk engine began in 1949 and was produced until 1986, il6 dohc also had some impressive race wins ect along the way. It really was the blueprint for any future serious six. GT-R32
He may not be an engineer as all this info can be found on wikipedia, also it's quite commonly known the awesomeness that is the sound and inherit smoothness and balance of the Straight Six! They sound insane! There were a few turbo'd L engines around aswell. Supposedly built like a tank. FineLine
Rotors sound like shit, 4 bangers sound like a fart. Good v8's rumble and get every body warm and fuzzy but nothing, Not even other in line six's raise the hair on the back of my neck like the roar of an angry RB. Even the fabled 2J pales in comparison to the unmistakeable sound of a hot RB. In line six's FTW! grigor
60° of overlap! Only if it's a 2-stroke. 6-cylinder 4-stroke is 120°. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/275466-inline-6/#findComment-4668307 Share on other sites
Phantom32
INLINE 6'S FTW the angry roar of my RB or the smoothness of my E39 2.5L...either way, the I6 is a fantastic platform for all applications!
