Don't forget the grand daddy of them all.

Jaguars xk engine began in 1949 and was produced until 1986, il6 dohc also had some impressive race wins ect along the way.

It really was the blueprint for any future serious six.

Rotors sound like shit, 4 bangers sound like a fart. Good v8's rumble and get every body warm and fuzzy but nothing, Not even other in line six's raise the hair on the back of my neck like the roar of an angry RB.

Even the fabled 2J pales in comparison to the unmistakeable sound of a hot RB.

In line six's FTW!

20B rotary sounds similar to an inline six due to firing pattern. 4 rotor sounds like a screaming little V8!

    • Also, at that point if the engine support stand slips I hope you can bench press 200+kg of RB26. Considering the oil pan has to be RTVed on as well which has like a 15 minute working time between the first drop coming out of the tube to fully torqued to spec I would probably never attempt pulling the oil pan unless the engine is on a proper stand.
    • It’s a gtr, has an alloy sump and will not stick to it obviously
    • Just wait until R31s catch the contagion.
    • As you can tell from updates....I haven't had a lot of shed time lately. When I'm on this though, I feel like I'm reliving Neil's last days. Everywhere I go on the car I seem to come across something he was working out. When I went up to his place just after he passed, I noticed he had a RB starter motor in the vice. And sure enough, this was my shed today So, last episode I mentioned the battery had 12.4ish volts but when I turn on the kill switch it drops to 9ish volts. Even with the stater main power removed, same. Matt said above: And yep, when I removed the solenoid power from the starter, the voltage jumped from 9 back to 11.7ish. Thus my testing the spare starter this arvo. Spare is good to go, just need to throw it in tomorrow. I'm not convinced that is the only issue as the voltage still drops from 12.4 to 11.7 when I turn the kill switch on, but first things first
