Not an engineer thank good for that, I don't have the necessary attention to detail; (if this were a plain we would all be dead); yeah it all could be found on Wiki; however it doesn't change the love for the inline 6.

Yeah ok if you take the fact that there are 4 engine strokes there's only really only about 32° of overlapping power, however it was given as a figure to compare it to a I4 (180° of power)... its a bad idea to quote out of context, that is how facts are miss represented and figures skewed.

Dose any one know of forums devoted to the I6, I mean there are plenty devoted to V8's and shit... but I haven't herd of any for the I6.

The M3 had to have the best I6 I've heard IMHO. I don't why, by it sounds great. I'm spewin that the put v8's in the M3s now. They should make an M1 and put the old M3 engine in it.

On the flip, I just heard a new M3 scream past the other day, I'm not so spurious anymore. It was fkn good.

Skyline sounds so much more advanced over any road going 4 cyl. (Maybe not the rally cars though...)

Gotta hand it to ford with this engine; forget the NA....the turbo 4.0litre is incredible (dosent sound to bad either)

also what about the rb30e; dont know much about it but it paved the way for the hybrid 25/26.....nothing says kool when you have a 40k engine with a bottom end from pick-a-part campbellfield uleh

just to clear things up, the engineer comment i made was sarcastic.

just for reference, i wouldnt say theres 60 degrees of overlap, thers 60 degrees between each cylender firing. i have been told that there is about 80 degrees of crankshaft rotation before the downward pressure runs out, so i'd say theres only baout 20 degrees of overlap

no i'm not an engineer either :P

I still prefer the sound of a Tuscan Speed 6.

I find the M3 sounds really anaemic at low RPM and low loads. That Tuscan sounds tough whether its being blipped while stationary, or driven hard.

1JZ love over here, even though the things sound like vacuums with stock exhausts. That engine can take an absolute beating before it gives out.

Large displacement bent 8's over all of them though. Nothing draws a crowd like straight pipes on a V8; it's the people's engine.

270Kw from the I6T in the XR6T, 315Kw I think from the FG F6 I6T.

20B rotary sounds similar to an inline six due to firing pattern. 4 rotor sounds like a screaming little V8!

I think it's Mad Mike the Kiwi drifter who's quad rotor i heard on you tube!!! F1 all the way!!!

Awesome.

And my vote's for the RB25!!! Cause that's all i could afford.....

Well technically the engine in your car has 1.998 litres so you fall outside the range unfortunately.

You must also love that piece of shit 2 litre 6 cylinder engine in the Eunos 30X.
