Hey i'm about to buy a new turbo for my 93 sr20det silvia. Just wondered what you guys thought would be the best streetable turbo. I was thinking a HKS 2530 or 2540. I don't want a race car, or a drag car just something that will spool up quikly and do mid 12's. I'm open for any suggestions provided they meet all my criterea..

thanks guys.

or HKS GT 2835 has a bit more torque range and a better liner curve... rather than top end power.....

i mean let's face it.... we dont always hit rev limiter in all gears...

just sometimes :D

they are ideal for 2 and 2.5 itre engine's....

and munro has two on his 9 sec GTR....

but that is only a small part of his development.....

When I was looking to get an aftermarket turbo for my silvia (now sold to make way for skyline) I thought well and hard about getting a full aftermarket turbo such as a 2540. Had a chat to a few people and some were even kind enough to take me for a spin in their cars so i could gauge for myself. However I came to my own conclusion that I would rather buy a second hand turbo off an S15. They are steel wheel and ball bearing flowing 320hp in stock trim and can be picked up for around $600. Was planning on getting one of these then paying another $1000-$1500 to get it HI-Flo to 420hp. Not a bad price no external gate required and bolts up to same mainfold water and oil lines same fittings. Not seeing a problem here, just something to think about. hope this helps.
