aus delievered R35 GTR was a f*kn animal and less then 1 second difference between that and the 911 GT2 porsche

:P

damn i missed it last night....

don't worry nick, jezza's got your back:

Pretty funny stuff. I thought all the girls were going to hold up their little pinky's.

I was in the audience for this top gear episode and got to see the car up close..

Didnt really like the inside of it, very custom but each to there own..

I didnt get to see under the bonnet either which was a shame :)

I was right up the front of the audience for the R35 too and then they wheel the lap board out right in front of me lol so my 5 minutes of fame was shoot down in flames :)

if there is a top secret part on that car it is VERY secret cause I've never found one... had a good look over that car a number of times. not really a fan of all the dr!ft logos all over the interior.... certainly some questionable taste. the car overall is not bad, but I would have thought they could have chosen better. like Blitz said that car has been no where near top secret japan and was built in aus.

im just flicking through the particular issue of Speed, Dec-Jan 03, issue 004 (yes im weird, i keep all magazines that i buy)...

now im not saying anything... and i believe baron more than most..

but in the article... Top Secret is mentioned alot. and the top speed run, and top secrets powerhouse tuning potential. it claims to have hks pistons, rods, rings and cams, and a top secret modified crank... now the most suprising thing, is in one of the pics of the rear... it shows, in plain view... a magnaflow muffler.. now what sort of top japanese tuning company, uses a magnaflow muffler, in the myriad of hks and trust pieces... if it was put on for compliance, than thats just plain ghey and should have been replaced with something a bit more 'trust' like

power is claimed at 440kw.

dont know if its appropriate to ask, but just curious. apologies if its not and mods please feel free to delete, but -

is this the same gold gtr that a few years ago the owner was murdered and it was at his funeral?

if anyone can recall?

Yes he was, Richard Carruthers.....

He was one of my brothers friends and he was sadly murdered in his house while he slept!!

Its a shame cause he was a very very nice guy and my brother and i and a few friends were planning to go to Japan with him just before he got murdered!!

He also had a R34 GTR with a few HKS parts on it, his close friend is selling it for him.

He was a very serious car fanatic not just with imports but V8s also! They had Torana's aswell that made some serious power

RIP RICK!!

    • Hey guys I’m chasing a Rb20det complete or bare block need a good running engine as mine has low comp
    • You're making my point for me. 95 is not "premium". It is a "slightly higher octane" version of the basic 91 product. The premium product that they want people to buy (for all the venal corporate reasons of making more profit, and all the possibly specious reasons of it being a "better" fuel with nicer additive packages) is the 98 octane stuff. 95 is the classic middle child. No-one wants it. No-one cares about it. It is just there, occupying a space in the product hierarchy.
    • 98 and 95 have to meet the same national fuel standards beside the actual RON.  91 has lower standards (which are quite poor really), so 95 is certainly not 91 with some octane booster. It would be an easier argument to claim 98 is just 95 with some octane boosters. Also RON doesn't specify 'quality' in any sense, only the octane number.  Anything different retailers decide or not decide to add to their 95 or 98 is arbitrary and not defined by the RON figure.
    • Anyone know alternatives to powerplus tungsten? Can't find an alternative online.
    • 95 is just a scam outright. 98 is the real "premium" with all the best detergents and other additive packages, and at least historically, used to be more dense also. 95 is just 91 bargain basement shit with a little extra octane rating. Of course, there's 91 and there's 91 also. I always (back in the 90s early 2000s) refused to put fuel in from supermarket related fuel chains on the basis that it was nasty half arsed shit imported from Indonesia. Nowadays, I suspect that there is little difference between the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the "bargain" chains and the nasty half-arsed shit brought in by the big brands, given that most of it is coming from the same SEAsian refineries. Anyway - if there's still anything to that logic, then it would apply to 95 also. 98 is only made in decent refineries and, as I said, is usually the "premium" fuel, both in terms of octane rating and "use this because it's good for your engine because it's got the unicorn jizz in it!".
