Sounds good ben. I basically have to check all fluids tomorrow, quick detail of the car pack it. Hopefully be getting on the freeway around 12.

Looking forward to getting away from work for abit.

I never recieved a entry number so will be bringing the recipt of when I sent it.

Holy shit that looks good Dion!

What procedure for that finish?

I use Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine followed by Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, using microfibre applicator pads and towels.

I checked all my fluids this afternoon, drove the car to work tonight to check for any abnormalities and (touchwood) its all good. I bought some racetape, actually 2 rolls of it to be exact. So if anyones bumper bars are hanging off I'm the man to see lol. Just need to pack some stuff for me, and an overnight bag for my car and I'm all set.

Will anyone be taking a socket set, jumper leads, etc?

Bleh I still haven't packed, have about 2 hours of work to do, and haven't cleaned the V35 whatsoever - and I have to be at Ben's in 1 hour .... sigh - time to prioritise what doesn't get done before I leave.

Report from my hotel room

Everyone made it OK via the Murray Bridge route sans Hostile who arrived half an hour ago and uby (I'm not sure when he's coming). Had fun on the way up with 2 way CB radios, but it makes me want to upgrade from a 0.5 watter to a 5 watt like SLED has

Various small dramas on the way up... luke using 3/4 a tank of petrol on the way up (wtf?) my lip coming off, Dions lip cracked, Hostiles 4wd not working and to top it off, some dumbarse local rear ended drift_s13 and tried to palm it off like it was drifts' fault - luckily there were witnesses and they went straight to the cop shop to report it. I had a look at the damage, looks like a lot of work but thankfully no chassis damage.

We all had a good dindins at the hotel after setting up (well half setting up) the SAU tent as well as pegging out our required space. And hopefully soon I can post up some pics, either of luke or dan with texta on their face OR pics of the actual show...

Well its been a fun day

We all met at 7am for the bbq brekky and were out at the oval by 8:15... sunshade frame was already assembled and space pegged out so all we had to do was roll the cars into position and line em up, do some last minute detailing and put the sides of the tent on.

On that note I'd like to thank everyone involved in this show for their exceptional teamwork ability, 'can do' attitude and willingness to help - its been a breeze thanks to you all so thanks. while im biased, i though the entire show looked excellent, top marks for everyone presenting a nice mix of nissans.

Was quite warm in the morning as we were setting up, most of us were on our 3rd or 4th bottle of water by that point (i personally drank $16 of bottled water - do the math) but around 1pm we had a nice breeze pickup - the SAU shade that Andrew bought performed admirably, especially since we were able to change the sides depending on shade and wind. We had around 16 people seated under the shadecloth and andrews air mattress. i also think that if they had an award for most intoxicated display that we'd win a trophy hands down due to the numerous beverages consumed by all.

a very nice selection of cars were there, from 67 ss camaros, gtho's, shelby cobras, a ferrari and a lambo diable, gary myers insane car (twin blowers omfg), few interesting imports of all sorts and the inevitable bogan mobiles.. some utter crap there too but ya get that at all shows...

right now im just relaxing in the hotel room with the aircon on full - im pink at the moment, by tomorrow ill probably look like a hairy tomato...sunscreened too late but thats my own damn fault... few more bourbons and I wont much care... cabaret dinner starting in 2 hours, should be a good night

oh yeah... luke didnt spew last nite, but Ill do my best to destroy his liver tonight...and krishy is some kind of george clooney type, picking up the local hussies within >minutes<... i was very impressed... i think there was good reason for pete to be looking at krishy when he said 'if anyone dates my daughter ill shoot them'.... youve been put on notice my man  lols

anyhow, after ive had a chance to swap pics with everyone I'll post a few up (unless someone wants to beat me to it)

Next: sleepin, english brecky v2.0, cruise around the riverland and a nice relaxing drive back home

EDIT - heres a crap pic from my phone in the meantime

God that was a great weekend.

Yeah I had fun too. We scored well with raffle tickets, Luke got 2 prizes (some oil and something else), pete got a CD rack, I won a DVD player and Dion won a digital tv set top tuner... shane scored 2 awards for puresx and pete won 2 awards for the sled (which positively had the locals drooling).. had many many drinks on the saturday night (except for pete who is old and needed his nap), with more than a couple of us waking up this morning feeling rather seedy... Andrew in particular was worse for wear, after we hit martins supply of cigars and rounded off the second bottle of bourbon.... capped it all off with a midnight feed of bacon and egg sandwiches cooked on the outdoor bbq.... too good. I managed to get 2 breakfasts, a midnight feed and a sausage sizzle lunch today for everyone and I still had leftovers to take home. We also got given a bunch of free yiros' by the Loxton Cricket Club at the end of the day - they had a fundraiser stall set up next to us.

Sunday we went on the Riverland cruise from Loxton to Berri to Renmark... loads of great cars came out - I can't think of any event which would have jap imports, american and aussie muscle next to restored morrises, a ferrari, a lamborghini, a couple of replica shelby cobras (not that you can tell they're replicas) and all the other esoteric cars that came for the ride.

On a down note, Dion blew his turbo while we had a little run around the riverside this morning, however it didn't stop him from keeping up with us on the way home, and has given him some new toys to buy

Bring on Riverland Expo 2010. I'll be there.

Awesome weekend guys! Im sure many many stories will surface lol.

Congratulations to Shane and Pete for thier trophies, raffle winners: Ben, Pete, Luke and everyone else who came along for putting on such a great display.

Thankyou Ben for the awesome breakfasts (and midnight snack) and your awesome co-ordination efforts.

And yes, I made it back to Adelaide lol

I'll b there next yr eather in Abe's car or hopefully my own skyline

The executive of SAUSA would like to thank all the SAUSA members that attended the riverland car show.

Special thanks go to Ben (Dohmar) for his organisational skills and breakfast cooking skills under the most difficult of conditions mainly... the other members :(

Hope that all member that attended the show enjoyed themselves.

Shane (pres).

Was a good day! Wasn't expecting the warm weather though (33 i think). Congrats to Shane and Sled for there wins, as above it would have been good if some of the competitors didn't leave early (not sure why the organisers allowed it) as the spectators didn't really get there moneys worth! Was good to recieve free yiros and also free beer..ha! Was very happy with the RCOLT winning best modern coupe aswell!!! (had to be put in that category as there wasn't one for hatches etc).

Ryan

**apparently there was 150 odd entrys (the most they have ever had!)

A great few days away, really enjoyed it, hopefully go along next year...and maybe win something. I would also like to thank Cara for getting this started and sorting out my paperwork and payments, also Ben for the cooked food, and the organization of the rest of the event after Cara left.

Congratulations to Shane for PURESX and Pete for his chopper "SLED", and of course the raffle winners...even though one sort of cheated.

Saturday at the show was indeed rather hot, so everyone kept there fluid levels up....some more hydrating then others. After the show, Krishy, Ruby, Inline6, Luke_ENR34, Fliggy and myself went for a dip in the pool...which was really good.

Our token drunk, Luke, did get drunk on Saturday night, but not as nearly as we had hoped :(, so unfortunately he didn't end up with any art work, but did almost end up in the pool.

    • ATTAKD 356mm Brake Kit for R34 GTT or R33 GTST. Same brake kit as per here from JJ: https://justjap.com/products/attkd-brake-kit-nissan-skyline-r34-99-02?currency=AUD Can confirm these will bolt directly to a R33 GTST with 12mm bolts OR to a R34 GTT (which is what I had) with the supplied bolts and the collets for the 14mm bolt holes in the R34, which are included. Also included is a set of rotors and hats, as well as 2x brake pad sets. 1) DBA XP (street, hills) 2) Forza FR6 (track) These are radial mounted and bolt directly to R33/R34. You will need extended brake lines to avoid them being full stretch on lock - this is common for all BBK's with the bolt point being in the center. In my case I welded another stud about 25mm lower than the OEM one and retained stock lines and fittings. You'll want a BM57 BMC to get the most out of these. I speak from experience. $1800 (neg for SAU people), located SE Suburbs Melbourne.
    • Set of R33 GTST Calipers, Rotors and Pads. Calipers just taken off my car, rebuilt about ~30,000km ago. Rotors have done about ~20,000km total since new. Pads have plenty of meat. One set is DBA XP (road, hills) and the other set is Forza FR6 (track) Still working perfectly, not rusted, or seized or whatever the hell that greets used brakes. All clips, bolts, retainers, slide pins etc included. Also have OEM handbrake shoes I can throw in there if you're doing a conversion. $650 for the lot, SE Suburbs Melboune/VIC
    • I feel I have covid right now. I spent the time between Dec 21 and Jan 31 pretty much working 16 hour days on the car after it got back from paint. It turns out you generate a long list of "things to do" while the car is off the road but functional. After going to visit my mate for a "Couple of hour job" doing the brakes, 3 full days later I got home There was more on the list, (it got added to while sleeping on couches) but as everything on the list got enthusiastically crossed out as it happened, I've actually forgotten what they were. From memory there were bushes that had to be pressed in and out, washer jets to fit, etc. Some Gregging highlights: 1) The panel shop covered up my washer jets and painted over it. Good job, I think. We had to drill the new bonnet to fit new ones, which was understandably extremely scary. 2) My handbrake on the RHS is f**ked. After never adjusting it forever and learning on the fly, this one is still on my to-do list. It tightens when you pull the lever, but at about 10% of the tension that the passenger side does. Thoughts on what causes this would be great. 3) Pouring an entire liter of brake fluid over the reservoir because I forgot how to use my pressure bleeder. DON'T PUT FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR. IT WORKS BY USING PRESSURIZED AIR NOT PRESSURIZED FLUID.   471907729_9242915229093447_2708910336906717367_n.mp4  I can confirm the vents work great though. 4) Some of the bodykit fixings were f**king awful. I'm talking screwed in with what was at most a 2mm screw, and could flap the kit around by hand. Too many others to mention. They came in, went out of my brain forced by other stupid tiny things that came up and "While the car is on the damn hoist we can fix them" which was a mission in and of itself, because the car has skirts and is thus a pain to put on hoists. Because we had to buff the windscreen to get rid of the overspray, I also had to very gently wash the car. The "Run 3 wires" task was to re-attempt another gregging thing which was: The LS1 ECU in Australia does not have oil pressure wiring because the Commodores do not have a 'real' oil pressure switch The Corvettes in the USA do have oil pressure wiring because Corvettes have a real oil pressure switch. The ECU is the same physical ECU. So what I could do is pull the ECU apart, run 3 more pins and run it to the OEM oil pressure ECU, and the ECU should do this. What actually happened is that Greg did this with some not-so-proper-wiring/connectors to the ECU pins which 'might?' be okay put the car back together, and then the fuel pump wouldn't prime. So you can imagine I immediately undid all this work, put the ECU back into it's original configuration, thought I'd do some more research about what connectors the LS1 Ecu actually uses... and try again later. Except still no fuel pump prime. After a lot of sadness and checking/double checking it turns out it was the relay in the boot that controls the fuel pump. All I did was switch the trigger wires and it worked fine. I looked at the relay and it was covered in bog dust and was unknown years old. It's since been replaced and working fine. After I got the actual connectors, and the wires were ran I gathered my strength and repinned the ECU and Voila! I apologize for these MMS  472164532_8829400773820369_5410969472548349643_n.mp4  And even via ODB2 on the headunit, woo. Now Torque Pro can raise hell on track if it gets too low. It has a wonderful EMERGENCY_DISTRESS_SINGAL style warning if it goes below a certain threshhold. 472585876_9345134268844369_146554337148747327_n.mp4 TLDR: Car great. HFM kit works. So much cleaning. Buy my old stuff. Thanks.
    • That's a hell of a question right there and so broad that you could get 100 different answers and have them all be correct.  To avoid me typing up a 2000 word thesis that doesn't answer your question, do you have specific things you are unsure of? Does the car currently handle in a way that you don't like? Or is it closer to, you think the car drives fine currently. But you'd like it to be better, but you don't know what that 'better' is or what that 'better' feels like?
