There's more to the conversion than just swapping the gearbox, much more.

Sell your auto and buy a manual. Don't go converting a vehicle that came so widely distributed as a manual :whistling:

i just did mine, picked it up 2hrs ago. love it to bits. in the end the whole conversion cost me $2k installed... hoping to get some money back from selling all the bits.

$2k? dats alrite...but after seing ur other post it has side effects/problems but anywayz yea i should just buy a manual...god dammit why did i buy an auto LOL...the car looks good though

Nothing wrong with the auto gearbox ... just modify the valve body ...

Either a stage 2 shift kit or stage 3 full manual valve body upgrade

Stage 2 shifts are pretty hard and alot quicker than a stock gearbox ...

I have the stage 2 in mine and it has no trouble kicking the rear end out and im running a N/A R32 GTS RB20DE

I am also running a Series 2 R33 GTS-T Auto gearbox in mine

2k! goddamn! was 4k the last i checked. which was the price diff between auto and manual cars anyway. mates rates?

nah, bought the conversion off ns.com from a dude, then got a workshop to install it.

yeah it turned out that the manual conversion on r33's is a bit more involved than other nissans (32, 180sx, 200sx, silvia), in other cars you only swap over the auto loom to manual one, however r33 has different harnesses between auto and manual and you have to re-wire and make your own small loom. Its fairly straight forward from what the mechanic told me, just gotta know which wires to use and which ones to remove.

The car is running great again  loving the manual!!!

yeh it depends how attached you are to your current car... selling mine and buying a manual one wasn't an option for me because ive already done a heap of suspension and brake upgrades to it and spent many long hours working on it, so wasnt worth pulling it all out and repeating the process on another car.

good luck with your decision tho! i think you will find that the 180sx is a lot more sportier and agile to the skyline but you will miss the comfortable interior and the inline 6 torque :P

Was gonna buy a new car but changed my mine..Its not worth buying a new car either especially if ur gonna buy from the dealers..The cars are expensive and paying finance is not worth it...

anyway hook me up skyhi i wanna do the conversion too! :D
