Hey guys,

The wheels on my 34 gtr were painted the wrong colour by the previous owner.. Just curious as to what I should use to strip them off with as I don't want to really damate the metal. I'm thinking paint stripper over getting them bead blasted as I've been told this can cause pitting in them.

Also what people recommend for the actual painting process, the usual 2pac paint or get them powder coated. I want to get them painted back to the original bronze colour :P

Thanks alot for your time

Mark

proper bead blasting, as in glass bead, should not pit the alloy - it will actually start to polish it.

if you are super sensitive regarding the substrate, go with soda blasting.

as to original bronze, there is a thread in this section that gives the paint code, not sure if it was correct or not... but from all the bronze powdercoats i've looked at, im yet to find a match :)

then again i havent had a set to work with to make a match to either.
