A mate told me last night that published in the current issue of AutoAction that the Australian GT Championship has decided to take the "Targa Class" concept run at Symmonds Plains for the V8 round and incorperate it full time as a sub class in all their future rounds.

Basically we know guys like the Moslers etc have pulled out of the GT Championship so they are looking to increase field sizes - and also a few of the Targa guys (the Quinn's, Donut King guys, etc) run in this championship so perhaps they have had some influence on this decsion.

But I can't find anything anywhere to confirm it. But if it is true I tell you the chance to run the rounds at Bathurst and the Australian GP - FARK YEAH!

It really does open up the door to a new realistic racing catagory option for Skylines as a whole, even if they aren't interested in doing Targa.

That would be great to see if it does come to fruition. GT Championship is one of my favourite classes of motorsport, so it would be good to see some Targa class cars mixing it up in there and making for a bigger field.

It's my understanding that Targa Class is in no means aligned with Targa Tasmania. A little confusing I know, but the quick cars in Targa Class could never run in Targa Tas due to the fully sic wicked mods they have.

Regardless, it would be excellent to see targa class flourish, very few limits to mods. I can envisage an alignment with Superlap down the road.

Best racing of the weekend at Symmons was from Targa class and im not surprised that they would want it as a support race.

Having said that i cant see many of the top runners from down here travel with them to do so even with the chance to drive on said tracks!!!

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
