I'm not having a lot of luck getting clear answers over on NS and I always had a good run on SAU so I'll give it a bash here.

I've got a non abs equipped S13 that now has S15 front calipers (stock rears)

I need to upgrade my master cylinder to give me back some pedal feel and have been told a BM50 would be ideal as this was fitted to cars carrying my calipers.

I'm just wanting to know if there's a non abs version of this (3 outlet ports) that will line up with my existing brake lines. Prefer a BMC from an S chassis car as Skylines have larger rear brakes and will upset my brake bias if I use a BMC from one of those.

Cheers

Yeah I think you're right, the issue becomes brake bias then as the GT-R had larger rears so more pressure is valved back there.

I might have to go a BM50 from an ABS S14 and either get the third port tapped in or use a T piece like some of the others have done.

you can use the non abs s14 master but you will need to mod the lines to fit it due to the front port being on top at the front rather than in line with the other 2.

I was going to do this recently but in the end decided to go with an s13det master (still looking) for ease of installation. I also don't really mind a longer pedal, it's just the s13de master the car has now makes it a little too long with the 4 pot fronts.

ActionDan, you wrote above "use a T piece like some of the others have done". This is something I am interested in; I have started a thread on the topic here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ab...57#entry4720057. Do you know of any threads that describe / confirm that this works? What have you ended up doing? Thanks, Ben.

I'm using a T piece on a BM50 (S15) master cylinder in my S13 now, works fine.

I had enzed make me up a male to male bolt 10x1.0 and I used a 3 port female block (the T piece) then gentle bent my brake lines to fit into the remaining two ports.

No worries but it'll have to wait, the car is getting aligned ready for the track tomorrow.

Will grab some pics when I can which shouldn't be too long as I wanna take some pics of the bumper after I added my own vents :/

I was told S13/14/15 rear calipers are all the same if that helps anyone...

differences in the hand brake assembly to suit different cable ends between models but otherwise identical

The fitting on the left going from the master cylinder to the brass block was made up by Enzed and is two male 10x1.0mm fittings welded together.

I fitted the block in this way as it required the least amount of line bending, the sharper bend in the line on the far right was already there so i just had to bend the line out away from the cylinder a bit more.

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
