Turn On The Air Con And Car Almost Stalls - R33 Gtr

Hi all,

Have noticed that if i turn my air con on while for example i am stopped at the traffic lights, engine will drop to 200rpm and kick itself back up to around 800 then fall back down to 200 and do the same over and over.

Car usually idles spot on at 1000 and when i turn the air con off, it returns to normal.

It is an intermittent problem and does not happen every time, but quite frequent. i actually took a video with my phone today so you can actually see it happen (dont have the cable on me - i will post it later).

Any ideas on what could be causing this? have only noticed it happenning since i got a power FC installed and the car tuned if that helps?

get an auto electrician to check your car for any bad grounds and the like.

this was happening to me and also 4wd light coming on..had 2 bad earths in the engine bay..now there fixed and my car is perfect

Or you can do what I did and just remove the air-con all together, so much more space in the engine bay and it weighs a good 20kg too (as an estimate).

A follow up post - this issue was resolved.

Took the car back into the shop, it was a power fc tuning / setting problem.
