its being planned no need to bump the thread.

Yep, that's right, but in the mean time, you SHOULD be getting yourselves to the Texikhana and the Oran Park days leading up to the Show and Shine.

I mean, it's all well and good to own a nice-looking car that sits well in a static display (and I hate seeing my car dirty or looking less than its best, so I know what this is like), but it's even better to experience how well it GOES without risking the loss of your licence or car and putting other's lives at risk...

Do it, you KNOW you want to. Links are here:

Texikhana: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Te...da-t270833.html

Oran Park South Circuit: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Or...ou-t279028.html (this is an SAU-NSW member's link for the time being, so if you're not a member yet, this is yet another excuse to become one - as a club member, you'll be given priority placement when this event is announced officially)

I was gob-smacked today. Why we have never looked at the Showgrounds at Fairfield I'll never know. This site has everything we want. What about parking for 200-300 hundred cars all under cover. Parking for trailers/spectators/tradies ect is massive. There's in excess of 400 hundred parking spots outside the actual show area.

Don't pencil this in,,,use a permanent marker.

so have we got any dates yet cos i gotta put new suspension n plenum on my car n tune it b4 hand so hoping it will be late november or something so i have some time to sort my nugget out

There'll be plenty of notice posted, so mod away, Travis!

We've got a location pretty much sorted, we just need to set a few things up before we can lock in the date.

For those of us new to skylines, what exactly is a show and shine? Im gathering everyone rocks up in there pride and joy for everyone to see? Is it like a proper show or could i bring my ride along?

Thanks.

r33ftw,,,mate it's all about our Nissan's and the love of them. Show stoppers to every day drives. Any Nissan/Datsun and sellected other makes will be warmly welcomed. We have had some set-backs getting it organized properly,,,but it seems we may be back on track.

Sounds awesome, i wouldn't know where too look, everytime i see a skyline on the roads or parked somewhere i cant help but stare untill its out of view. Id love to bring my r33 but everyone would have to go easy on me :thanks: only had it 6weeks and havent beenable to fix it up as well as id like( has ugliest rims).

I brought my standard ass 33 to the last Show N Shine. I would love to bring it back again as it's come a LONG way.

If you want to enter your car then do it. If you want to just walk around and chat about your car (and trust me, people will listen!) then do it! :(

You come away with a bajillion things that you want to do to your car! :worship:

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
