There are many people around the world that can highflow a stocker. If you were in Oz I would have recommended that you contact Hypergear in Melbourne. You could still get a turbo from him, even from Japan. Have a look at their site. There are many options on the site - can be confusing. Just contact them direct if you want to go down that path and need help.

Your right and that is my fear. I have heard of hyper gear, I guess I’m inky concerned of the price being worth it because stock housing isn’t very expensive. I feel like a my lady shopping for shoes lol

i guess it all depends on the availability of the other parts you need to fit the 2535. The one in the link has the oil feed line, but doesn't have the coolant lines, 90 degree elbow or oil drain to make it a bolt on kit. Add the cost of buying these and it doesn't look cheap anymore

And then you don't know if it's in working condition. It looks ok, but any turbo does if you give it a clean!

The other option is the hypergear high flow - which they can supply the donor turbo if needed and send it to you. I'm not sure if you have a R33 or R34 but in theory you could get the exact turbo made to suit your power goals and have it bolt on 100% if there are limited options for fabrication etc

Thanks that was helpful especially when determining costs. I didn’t look at it from that perspective. 

Yep I was not suggesting going with the GTRS but I do have one .

The issue is turbine housings , specifically ones that bolt to the standard manifold . Just on this , the std manifold mount flange is a "T3" bolt pattern but it is slightly wider across the two exhaust outlets than a real T3 single outlet port .

The drama with RB25DETs is that GT28 turbines are really a bit small especially if its in a small 0.64 AR GT28 turbine housing . This is exactly the format that HKS made their T3 integral wastegate turbine housing . The plus was that it bolted up and made an easy install but I think that's because it was something more intended for RB20DETs . HKS spec Garrett turbos like GT2530/2535/GTRS (2871R in 52 compressor trim) could be optioned with this turbine housing .

I mentioned recently that we are having the same problems now that we did 15-20 years ago with GT30xx turbos - no T3 flanged integral gate turbine housings except from HKS - ka ching ka ching . These days there are no T3 or T4 turbine housings out for the current Garrett G series turbos which is probably why the market is reluctant to buy them . Ideally something like a G25 or G30 should be ants pants but Vband mount turbine housings are useless to most of us . Geoff at Full Race in the US is pushing for more usable G series turbine housings but things move slowly in Garretts aftermarket section . OE spec turbos to the manufacturers is where their volume sales are .

That aside most people will probably say buy one of Hypergears  turbos or go with something like a Garrett GT3076R or GTX3071R in say a T3 flanged integral wastegate 0.82AR turbine housing . Its been done here a lot and it does work reasonably well .

    • No worries, everything worked out in the end. I just wanted to make the point that it doesn't matter where it comes from (I.E Australia), it can be broken or improperly built. I would still purchase from these companies in the future. B2R - Not certain how that finished, this was on a car I wired a few things and street tuned. I know the owner ended up shipping the motor back to Australia for investigation. Hopefully some of it is covered under warranty.  Turbosmart - I always pressure test everything that goes on my car. It's a habit from my career in oil and gas. I run two 40mm's and both had major leaks from the actuator to exhaust portion through the shaft. I returned both, they shipped me back two and one was leaking and the other had a 38mm top (40mm gate with 38mm actuator cap, no idea how that happens). Eventually after a lot of back and forth I found myself with two non-leaking gates. I believe this happens a lot more then people would like to believe but you would never know if you don't pressure test them prior to installation. Crank Motorsport - Issued a full refund and let me keep the seat rails. I turned them into scrap metal for other projects. GKTech - Shipped me out a replacement and asked that I modify it as per my idea and that they would do the same for a future revision. ATP - Can just needed a large shim to bolt up properly.  Haltech - They started an actual proper Beta channel for firmware's a few months back and stopped using the general public for testing. I'm now much happier.  Speedtek - f**k Speedtek. I would love to watch them burn.     
    • I've got a Turbosmart wastegate, ATP catch can, many GK Tech parts and Haltech everything. Everything's been perfect, sorry to hear your experience wasn't the same
    • The only high-power RB I've personally seen go pop after running for all of an hour on a dyno was built by B2R, while being remotely tuned by B2R. The only wastegates I've ever had leak like a sieve, return, still leak, return and get shipped back the wrong ones were from Turbosmart. The only final drive that I've ever purchased that were unusable, twice... were from Speedtek. The only seat mounts that I've ever purchased that placed the seats in the door frame were from Crank Motorsport. The only poorly designed parts that I had the manufacturer confirm should have been designed as per what I mentioned were from GKTech. The only ECU I've had firmware updates consistently break things are Haltech. The only catch can I've purchased that didn't fit in its advertised spot was from ATP. So forth and so on... Moral of the story, doesn't matter where it's from. Do your research beforehand and stick with products and companies you've trusted in the past.    @joshuaho96 If you want it done right, do it yourself.
    • Something coarse-ish. 180 is good.
    • I was surprised to see all the quick Jack models at the same prices on there. But yeah, grabbing one at 20% off would be great.
