Hi, am pretty much set on buying this head unit, however I just have a few questions.

Item

It says 'Built-in Parrot Bluetooth Module', does this mean I can get my phone (which has bluetooth duh) connected to it so I can make and receive calls whilst driving (talk into microphone and listen back through car speakers)

Has anyone bought one of these?

Kinda need a quick reply cause I've got a ebay 10% discount thing which expires in less than a day :D

if it is a BT alpine unit, then yes you can connect your phone, it comes with an external mic, and you can choose which speaker the sound will come through. i would advise against this model, as i sell alpine equipment, and havent heard of this model before, see a specialist dealer and buy a real one.

I was about to ask about this headunit as well ... is it possible you simply don't stock this item (yet) ? I'm not sure if you're infering it's a fake/copy or what.. It's on their 'Asia' web site http://www.alpine-asia.com/index.php?optio...&Itemid=275

Is there any other jap brand headunit with good bluetooth for under $300 that you would recommend ? Cheers

alpine may indeed make the unit but alpine australia is a different entity to alpine japan, it may be the case that they dont bring them into the country because they dont fit australian market or pricing structure.

oddly enough, i'd reccomend a sony MEX-BT250 i think is the model, i usually sell them for about 300-350, good little unit, mic is built into the face so easy to fit... if you're planning to run subs the preout voltage is a little poor, so you might want to look at either a clarion CX509 or CZ609 the 509 being a single din bt unit with sub control + 3 preouts, the 609 being double din, bt, triple preouts, sub control, and changing colour. 509 rrp for about 450, and the 60 is about 499..

the only other unit is the alpine cde-104bti for about 499 with the same features... all nice units, comes down to budget and preference, drop into your local autobarn or audio store and have a look and ask to be shown the differences.

remember, ask nicely for a discount too... but dont expect one off any alpine stock, it doesnt happen...

I work at JB and we stock the 103BT head unit. I've sold plenty and haven't had one come back yet. The 104 and 103 is exactly the same just different colour.

As for "ten four", its a great unit mate. Have had some good responses from it.

What phone do you have? The BT is by Parrot and they work with 99% of phones. Even iPhone funny enough.

Also mate, watch ya warranty when buying from ebay.
