Exhaust systems like that from R32 - R34 are very easy to install, as long as you are fairly handy and have the right tools (a hoist always helps too).

X-Force are reasonable quality systems, not the greatest but not crap either... Although $1100 seems pretty expensive. I would call Trojan and speak with Angelo before you buy that exhaust, he might be able to source something better quality for around the same money.

I had an X-Force turboback system on my old R33 GTS-T and it seemed like a reasonable quality system, although I recall the guys at Powatone saying it was a bit of a bastard to fit.

I'd also be asking how loud it is without the silencer, unless you like having that big bung in there.

x-force isn't a bad brand.

Although, for that amount of $$$, you could go to custom city exhaust and get a custom exhaust made up to suit what you like (loud, quiet etc) for that sort of money.

I had a few x-force mufflers on previous cars, they worked a treat

You can usually get a custom mild steel system made for around $900 - $1100 for a full turbo back exhaust.

As Mick said, go talk to Angelo @ Trojan about sourcing a system for you. A jap brand cat back system is usually around $800 (add $300 - $400 for a decent dumppipe).

Depends on what you want as well, loud, quiet, legal limit etc... The Kakimoto Regu systems have a very very nice growl without being obnoxiously loud.

If you were referring to me TiTAN, the $900 - $1100 custom mild does include a cat in the estimate, yes... I paid $950 for my first 3" mild steel custom setup for the whole thing.

That was with a ceramic cat, i'm now running a metalcat.

Mate, you should have no worries with the system.. The muffler in the middle should allow it to not be as drony as most 'cannon' style systems.

If you haven't had your standard dumppipe off before from the turbo, you may need to start getting some wd40 to all 6 bolts. The amount of heating/cooling they have gone through will make them a pain in the behind to get off.

Honestly, the first time i replaced the dump, i used a little bit of exhaust gasket goo with the factory gasket. I know it isn't the 'done' thing but it worked. It was replaced when the new turbo arrived about 5 - 6 months later.

If you are keen on keeping your current turbo and would like a new gasket, hit up Angelo @ Trojan, he should be able to get a genuine one for you pretty easily (he may even have one stocked).

Sweet, i still gotta get it passed for rego befor i do anything anyway, so i got a bit of time...

can ya recomend a good place to take it to for that? its stock so it shouldn't have a problem, just have to get it transfered into my name and into ACT rego

Unless the rules have changed recently, I think you will find that if you bought it privately from interstate that it HAS to go through Dickson for an identity check as well as a roadworthy.

When I bought my GTR in from Vic 6 months ago I was told that it had to go through Dickson even though it came via a compliance shop/dealer, just didn't need the identity check part.

Just ring the motor registry and ask.

I bought mine off a mate in Canberra. I had a lot of trouble getting someone to look at it because it was lightly modified and because it was a grey import. Problem was when I rang to find out I got a different answer from someone every time.

I couldn't get an appointment in Dickson, so to avoid me getting fined they ended up letting me take it to Jackos (which used to be in Dickson).
