Probably A Stupid Question...

Hey. I've just started noticing something wierd and don't know if it's normal and just haven't noticed it before or its a sign something is going wrong. Basically when I'm driving normally then give it some gas once it gets near the 3g rev mark the rpms jump by a couple hundred then come back down. I'm worried that it could be a trans or clutch problem. Or is it something I just havent noticed?

Clutch is slipping, guessing the friction plate is worn. Replace clutch!

Edit: Sorry, this is assuming you have a manual...if you have an auto it could be a number of things, starting at the torque converter...

Cheers mate, this is what I was thinking. Hopefully it'll last a little while.

Just drive it off boost and you'll be able to keep it for long enough until you save up / make time for a new clutch. It's an odd feeling...the engine seems to rev up but the car doesn't move anywhere. Had this in my Soarer

I had the same thing in my R33. Put a new clutch in it and it went away.
