Good to meet some of you guys recently.

An "interesting" night.....

Good job Mona, Thanks.

Thinking of ROH Drift R. 18" for the Z. with Potenza 225/45 and 245/45. Close to deal-any thoughts?

Also the stock 18"'s on up spec Z are the same 8" width f and r, or do I go 8" front and 9" rear. Appreciate your comments.

P.S.This will release the 17" Z wheels and Potenzas (14000k)

if theres interest in them ..OK for 200, Skyyline etc I think.

Regards

Steve (Old man..duuuh)

Steve,

Thanks for coming along :) was good to see a 350Z on the road with us

Mate the Drift R's sound like a good option in 18x9 and 18x8 :(

Rather than selling the Stock 17's, how about keeping them and putting semi-slicks on them for track days???

Hope that helps,

Tosh

Ta for reply Tosh...

I just don't quite understand the difference in having same size f and r - or bigger on rear.....maybe under/oversteer affected?

Z Touring (stock 17") has 1/2" diff. (7.5 and 8.0)....up spec track @18"..no difference......

BTW. Sat Nav and dvd going in too.....

Steve

Nice meetin u Steve, i was the one borrowing ure lighter lol.

I've been tryin to do some research at work (car park attendant) checkin out all the cars rubber.

Porsche turbo use 18x8 an 18x11! Thats 225 front and 295 rear! But then again thats rear engine.

BMW M3 Uses 18x8 18x9, 225's and Stretched 255's

Most performance rear wheel drive seem to be usin 225 front and 255+ rears. Definetly go 8 front and 9 rear. Taking into account that 255's on an 8" would be pushing it and u'd have a bulge in the tyre wall.

Cheers,

Lozz

Well, there is a bonus to same sized tyres front and rear, you can rotate them if the wear isn't even front to back.

You only need to go bigger tyres at one end if you're not happy with the traction or balance. If you're not having wheelspin trouble or oversteer out of corners you probably don't need new tyres.

Thanks fo replies guys

The stock tyres are different f and r, on both 350Z's, which precludes tyre rotation anyway...

The 18" Track is 225/45 and 245/45

The 17" Touring is 225/50 and 235/50..

Makes it hard..I'm thinking now 8" 245/45 front and 9"265/40 rear which keeps it in spec.

The width is more cosmetic to fill the guards than anything else!

Cheers Steve
