If Your Cars Not For Sale, How Much $ Would It Take You To Sell?

Recommended Posts

i would have to be offered at least 15 (ie. quite a bit more than what anyone would usually pay for a s2 r33) ... after i sell my wheels to kr4-gtr for some ludicrous price :P

even at such an inflated price, considering all the time/effort/money i've put into it... i would probably just break even :P

50K Offer before i would even listen.

I cant believe how cheap 'GTR's are now, i know you can get a bargain sometimes, however

i still think under 30k for an R33 is maybe a bit 2 cheap for a good one.

i'd take $10.5k ! someone pls buy my car !

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Si...-T-t275567.html

not sure why not a single person has enquired yet (it's on carsales too) but i suppose it's only been up for sale around 9/10 days

Don't give up :( just leave it there....most sell eventually but it has to take the right buyer to come along and be after exactly what you've got.... sometimes that can take MONTHS :) just ask anyone who's been selling..

Yes but every person who imports a car knows that he can sell it for more than what he paid for it!

Furthermore, there is a higher increment again up to the 'Agreed Value' in his insurance policy!

I can understand your thinking tho' = once a buyer here has latched onto a perfect (or near-perfect) specimen, he/she is reluctant to let it go for less than it's worth!

Our cars already depreciate much much less than a Commoford. So are we lucky? Or just ASTUTE?

I'd consider anything over 60k. Many people ask if its for sale and when I tell them how much I'm willing to let it go for i can tell by their look on their face as to say 'your dreaming'.

I'm thinking the same if they think they're getting it for anything less....

Everything is for sale, its just how much the owner is willing to let it go for....

"Everything is for sale at the right price"

What about swaps?

I'd possibly swap my SR20DET Datsun 1600 for an R35 GTR, but then realising that all that blood sweat and tears would just be swapped for a car that I could just buy anyway (for over $100K!), probably isn't worth it. Plus the fact that the R35 owner would be getting a superior car.... :P;)

(or should that be swapping a superior car....) HAHhahaha. :D

This is an emotional question - it is not about what the car's market value is but what it is worth to you - what would it take for you to part with it.

My Skylines are worth much more to me than just their sale price - they provide an interest and an outlet for my motoring passion. My son always stirs me because I treat them like babies and spend too much money on them.

My GTR is in showroom condition with a total of three stone chips on the whole car.

My GTS-T has been my daily driver until a few months ago when I retired. I am now embarking on a full bare metal respray including the replacement of the passengers rear quarter due to some minor rust from an earlier repair in the old country. I nearly have a complete car in parts and will have a complete (new from Nissan) concourse front bar and bonnet and a second front bar and bonnet for track days and the like due to likehood of getting some stone chips on the track.

Now is that starting to look like a passion or what? How can you put a price on that? The fact that I also have four other cars in the driveway for my family to use as daily drivers further supports this concept.

    • People still have Skylines? I thought they're non-existent now.
    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
    • They do that at random every now and then, with almost no detectable cause. Mine has done it a couple of times (over 25 years!!). Never worked out why.
    • I don't post on here and have been lurking for some time now. Many of the topics have helped me out more times than i can count. I was racing yesterday (11/9) and blew a front right CV shaft. I have spares so I popped a new one in. A thread i read previously said to check the engine mounts if you blow a front CV. Upon inspection, the front right mount was completely separated from the upper plate. This discovery saved me time and money, because i would have blown another CV if i went back out. Just wanted to thank you guys and wish everyone luck with with their builds. (Now if we could only come up with a solution for my power steering belt flying off after hitting the rev limiter, lol)
    • Either way he still need those style of spacer to go into the manifold because the photo he currently has is not going to work
