Hey Adam

You don't happen to sell replacement speakers do you? Just ripped some old Advent outdoor speakers off the wall, and opened them up. The mid-bass driver is completely had it - would you stock an equivalent replacement/s?

Cheers

Brendan

Brendan,

I dont think so, (i work in car audio and my section definetly doesnt) however you might want to give us a call on 9350 5600 and ask to talk to someone in Home HiFi. if we do, just tell them Adam from car sound sent you and they can look after you on prices ...

or just come and see me with the model no you are chasing ;)

Thanks dude.

In the end I went down to Autronic and picked up a couple of replacements. Found one almost identical. Shame I now need to look into why the tweeters aren't working - they're prolly stoofed too.

Cheers

Brendan

Adam..

I'm just after a pair of 6" spkrs as "rear fill in" for my parcel shelf. Nothin too flash, just a nice clear sound to run off the deck. ( 4 x 50 ). Already runnin subs and splits so they'll only need to have a good mid range.

anything you recommend.?

cheers,

Shannon

Hi Shannon

Really depends on your budget at the end of day....

I like the Pioneer range of gear.. pretty good sensitivity and decent frequency response.

Can get 2 ways for a fair bit less than $100 and 3 ways for not too much over from memory...

Series hybrid at low speeds, at higher speeds the engine directly drives the wheels but there can still be some power bled off to charge the battery + the electric motor can still provide parallel assistance too. It's really only a question of will at that point. Toyota's PHEVs are selling incredibly well at the moment because of the flexibility. You can run on EV mode when it makes sense, but if you're planning on doing a long highway drive you can still fire up the gas engine and not have to worry about dealing with the rather miserable state of public charging infrastructure.
    • Only reason to keep a MAF on your RB25 is to be able to easily calculate true VE if you know what the factory voltage curve represents in grams per second of flow. Also allows you to do things like pull the original OEM ignition + AFR target tables and use those as a starting point for your base map. Once you're well and truly done tuning though there's no need to retain the MAF.
    • Do you think they'll merge there performance divisions and we'll end up HoMo?
    • Very true, if buying new, I would not get an PP either. Minimum is an Elite 2500, which is also considered outdated. Get something that supports DBW, delete that cable throttle. Best thing I've ever done to the Skyline, next best is refreshing the A/C with a new condenser. It's cold, but not as cold as modern car, but colder than most 90s JDM shit boxes imported into Australia.
