I queried my local exhaust shop yesterday for the following:

R34 GTT: Turbo -> Cat, 3inch mandrel bent pipe in either mild or stainless steel. He will get back to me today on the cost and I will let you guys know :(

R33 GTS-t: He quoted me for the same pipe in mild steel for R33, $300 fitted, so hopefully the 34 isnt much different.

When he calls I will ask how much a hi-flow Cat would be too :)

hey nismor34 and eriktufa, My R34 has a 3 inch system from the turbo right back, it looks like a bolt on system too and runs AWSOME. i used to have a 32 and the exhaust would scrape over bumps but the 34 sits right up and doesnt scrape or anything. I know its a jap brand, brb, ok it says on it SR Jasma on it. "Made in japan" and has some number on it, i think there may have been only a few made. Also after having a closer look i think its a 4" system. Anyway guys i hope this helps. search the net for jasma or sr i supposse. and let me know if you need to know anything else.

:BURNOUT Eddie :BURNOUT

Thanks Eddie, good to hear.

Jasma is like the EPA of Japan.

SR could be a brand that makes exhausts but Jasma is not.

4 inch front? Or cat-back section? 4inch would have to be close to scraping if yours is lowered?

hey guyz thx for the replies.. sorry havn't been logged on.. bz with other stuff. :(

The other day i went to EAS performance.. i quoted full 3" system from the turbo (excluding dump pipe) to the exhaust(if you ahve an exhaust) is $700 fitted. Dont know if it includes the exhaust/hi-flow cat or dump pipe. but 3" for whole system from the stock turbo back to the exhaust for $700 is that a resonable price. Its custom made and i dont know if its mild steel or stainless steel? does it make a diff ? cause stainless is abit more dearer. Thanx.. hope this helps.. if anyone can get a better price for a whole system. That would b great. If no-one has a better price.. i'm gettin the system done on wednesday. I'll post on how it goes and how da job is done :(

hey charlie, i used to have a R32 and it had a 3" from turbo back and seriously man i wasnt happy with it at all. Before i got the big system my car was good for cruising around and revved hard but sinse i got my bigger system the car was about 50% slower. no joke untill it hit maximum boost. this caused me to always be using boost and fuel. Also it scraped on everything possible, including just getting it onto a hoist :(

Im hoping you will be alot happier with yours than i was. I just wanted to let you know how i went.

My 34 seems awsome with the big system on it, but mabey it was even better with a smaller system on it.

Good luck.

Eddie

I will have some prices for front/dump [turbo to cat] tomorrow - i am going around to talk to my local exhaust guy.

I will also ask a price for ya charlie - though it will be hard to compare cause it sounds like you dont know exactly what you are getting? Which is a bit of a worry!!!

If someone says turbo back that should include at least ALL of the piping including dump, front, then from cat to muffler. Or perhaps it should be the whole lot? Which would be a lot dearer, I will clear it up tomorrow...I am sure I can get ya a better deal though :)

Eddie; thanx for ya lil info.. i'll have a good talk to the guy b4 anything actually happens

NismoR34; it would be sweet for you to actually help out. :) i wouldn't mind driving another 100km to get the car done for cheaper and better. The thing is .. i havn't booked it yet.. but if i call on sunday, then yeah they will book me in for wednesday, since its the long weekend. bLeh dam those horses. But then again, if you can get me a better deal from a turbo back (dump/front/hi-flow cat/3" all the way to exhaust") i would love to get it there man. At least i know i'm gettin some good stuff like you are.. so if u go wrong.. i go wrong too.. if ur sweet.. i'm sweet to :) LoL.. not jinxing anything man.. but just saying :)

    • I'm hoping I just don't have to do an engine rebuild NOW. Doesn't mean I won't do it at some point. I think a plus point is that the car presumably ran on or close to stock power nearly all it's life so far. Only the Owner I bought it from actually increased power with a standalone ECU and blew the OEM turbos. And after it got thee 2860s it wasn't driven an awful lot either.   That is what I meant. With the twins coming on so late (4500-5000rpm) I hope the rods won't want to exit the block prematurely. And it still being a 26 means the torque curve isn't gonna hike up all that much.   It didn't blow up on the dyno when they tuned it to 500ish crank. So I suppose it'll be okay for now. They did put a Tomei head gasket on first though which did not seal at all, and they redid it with a Cometic one. Which I hope won't be my water leak.   Mainly anything oil. So far all it has is the N1 pump, oil restrictor and a filter relocation kit with a cooler.
    • 15000? ish? Something like that anyway. It wasn;t so much a wear as a tear that then spread. Might have lasted a lot longer if not bothered by just one incident, whatever it was. I took a punt. They are really comfortable and do a good job of holding. My daughter HATED it when I first put them in, and probably still does now. She has sensory issues and hates the way they are all up your business. I'm 197cm and 95kg. Not fat or particularly wide, and the XL size seat is the rigth fit. If I was any fatter it would start to get too snug. Any skinnier and you'd possibly want the smaller width.
    • Mrs rs focus came factory with recaro cs  sportsters in it and they a pain in the ass to get in and out of with the really high bolsters, once you were in them they were one of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in
    • The NA 2.5 has very little torque. You won't feel much. Those trannies are also a million years old now and it could well be f**ked. First generation electronically controlled autos will often refuse to kick down, ete, etc, depending on what's wrong with them.
    • Yes, but no but yes but no. Those "it's fine up to 500HP" rules and everything else like it were all determined back when the cars were 10 years old. As they are now 30 years old.....what do you reckon the chances of something shitting the bed are? I'd say they are much higher now than they used to be. You might be lucky. You might be unlucky. Spin the wheel and find out. Yeah, nah. It's actually exactly the opposite. Making boost early and having heaps of torque able to be generated right in the middle of the rev range will do more to damage an engine than having to rev it high to make the power. Think about the load on the conrods, bearings, etc, to make 400HP at 4000 rpm, vs 400 HP at 6500 rpm. So someone has already "let the Nissan out" which is how we describe the increased chance of a fiddled with engine to have had something done wrongly. Many more engines that have been opened die than stock ones do - even if you into consideration how they are treated wrt power levels and the like. Again, not saying that yours will definitely have been put back together by a moron. But the possibility does exist. It's still a lottery. Spin the wheel. What weakspots?
