another success story for proengines:

one of greg's built Subaru engines ran second in the open class @ 1:39.95 at superlap.

he didn't do the final assembly on it but was responsible for all machining, ported the heads etc.. dummy assembled it etc..

hi guys,

just a quick note which might help others - i am getting fuel fumes in the car which is only slight & i decided to drop into earls @ silverwater for their opinion...i am running an 044 in tank & 2 external 044's with a surge tank in the boot space.

the fuel hose i am using is rated @ 300psi, however, the only way to get rid of the scent is to run teflon coated fuel hose which earls stock @ $30p/metre

just another mod i need to do to my car :D

i should also add that fuel hose without teflon coating actually permeates through the membrane which makes sense as you can actually smell the fuel on the line itself. earls also explained that i wouldn't get this smell if i ran 91 or 95 ron pump fuel but with 98ron it has some type of chemical which causes this permeation - less ron is out of the question for me!

fuel smell fixed!

i am using 1 brand of fuel hose for all my fuel system plumbing to/from the surge tank.

my return line (3/8) is another brand which i bought from robbo's as a last minute decision, this hose was permeating throughout the car...i changed this 3/8 hose to the same brand as the rest and wallah!

very happy :P now i can put my 8mth old baby in the back seat :P

check these out lol

being my b'day my wife bought me 'some' gtr apparel & organised a gtr cake - i just wonder what her family really thinks of me with this silly addiction we all have on this forum haha

btw the pink top is for my daughter, not me

last night my brother asked me "show me what it does 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear" ...dont have to ask me twice lol

i launched it @ 4krpm & the thing broke out like mad & his response was "you're kidding hahaaa" ...i think he needs to get his gtr back on the road.

i'll get a launch onto youtube & post it here - every time i give it a push it surprises me :D

rb26/30 is a great setup! i could easily afford to go to a t51r spl with the extra capacity & would still be responsive on the street

quick update.

i refurbished my brake calipers & i think they look great...i used an epoxy paint which cures like a thick powder coat & withstands up to 1100degrees so they will never crack or peel - they are inspired by another member on the uk forum who also used a nismo stencil but his are yellow.

what do u think :worship:

im also thinking of having my 'twin turbo' pipe modified to run an internal baffle, to prevent light throttle surge.

guys on the gtr uk forum have had HUGE success doing this mod...is there anyone here in aust doing this work or do i need to ship to the uk :worship:

Just find someone who can tig weld with AC. I have a twin turbo pipe sitting on the floor in my room with the same intentions... been there for 6 months! I will do it soon.

Definitely get it done Marko and update if it is a mod worth doing!

I bet i know who you mean with the nismo yellow calipers

On the TT pipe, the UK guys swear by it, so its worth a try. Im doing it for the next motor, if it doesnt work its an easy swap back to the stock pipe (got 2 here)
