MOTOR MAGAZINE’S FIRST ANNUAL HOT TUNER SHOOTOUT

-MOTOR Magazine is Australia’s premier performance car publication. As fast-car enthusiasts, we’d like to invite your company to participate in

the first annual Hot Tuner Shootout – a multi-event test to determine the fastest car in the country.

-It is essentially a task for your company to create the ultimate motoring missile – within a set of rules aimed to educating our readers on what

is available for them in the local aftermarket industry.

-I would like to encourage you to participate using the following criteria and mindful of the testing process we will put the vehicles under.

All vehicles will be ranked in each test by a percentage of the variance to the best result. Points will be awarded for each test and collated to

determine an overall winner, therefore rewarding the most outstanding all-round vehicle.

-If you require any clarification, or more information, please do not hesitate to contact me using the details provided below.

-Please RSVP via email to [email protected] with confirmation of your intention to participate, including your intended vehicle type by Monday July 13.

WHERE: ORAN PARK MONDAY - TUESDAY AUGUST 3RD-4TH

ACCELERATION: 0-100km/h and 0-400m

BRAKING: 100-0km/h; time, distance and peak G-Force

POWER: Dyno testing for peak power and torque

TIGHT LAP: Oran Park North Circuit; measuring overall time, corner speeds and V-Max

RULES:

-All vehicles must be street-legal and be based on a standard vehicle available for public sale within Australia after 2007 Model Year.

-All modifications are permitted as long as they meet current ADR and state regulations for registration purposes. All components,

modifications, and/or complete vehicles, must be available for sale to Australian consumers at the time of testing. And all costs, including

fitment, and specifications must be provided for editorial purposes.

-All vehicles must be made available for testing by MOTOR personnel during the event.

-Any mechanical failure will be deemed a DNF during the particular test.

Cheers

That would be pretty cool.

I guess a lot of ppl may opt for the European sports cars (Porsche, Ferarri, Maserati, BMW)

I would be shocked if no one gets an R35, but then again, has the Spec V been released yet?

R35 is the only way to go ... wonder how many HSV/FPV heroes you'll get, they produce the big dyno numbers but would probably fall down on the track.

Depends on what the weighting is for each of the tests.

Exotics would also be up there, so what they should have is price categories, both in terms of starting car price and price of mods.

At least that's what I would do to keep it competitive and also informative (BFYB stuff).

their needs to be a top gear style budget in which they have say $50000 or $100000 and they have to buy the car and modify it within that... otherwise you'll get robbie bulger rocking up with a v8 supercar with rego plates and it will be gay or high end euros... and again, gay.

ill go... if someone does up an avalon! otherwise... ive got better things to do.
