Dr Boost
Hey all!!! Just wondering where your siren is for your alarm? I have an r33 and the noodle that fitted the alarm put the siren in the drivers side shock tower, pointing down towards the front of the engine. In this position it doesnt seem very loud, i am lucky to hear it go off from inside my house. the alarm is a rhino maybe all rhinos are quieter??? Jimbo2000
if you're worried about it get yourself an extra screamer form jaycar or somewhere similar mine isnt too loud either dont know where it is, in the engine bay somewhere Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/27767-where-is-your-alarm-siren/#findComment-580424 Share on other sites

Dr Boost
No no one said it was bad. It just is a hell of a lot louder when the bonnet is up, obviously. but in the manual for the alarm it said it should be mounted on the fire wall pointing down. Not a lot of room there on the r33, I could move it to there but i am a bit scared of drilling thru the fire wall into some wiring or something. it just seems where it is the sound is muffled by everything in the engine bay. I thought it would be louder if the sound was bouncing straight of the ground underneath the car maybe?? Any ideas?? Jimbo2000
yeah as i said mines like that too. anybody else have a siren mounted anywhere else? an extra screamer in the cabin right under the steering wheel is a good idea 140 or so decibels right in the earhole of a hotwirer might make them think twice Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/27767-where-is-your-alarm-siren/#findComment-580461 Share on other sites
fooey
HEheh Yup my thoughts exactly.. just picked up a 100DB piezo screamer from dick smith at lunch today Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/27767-where-is-your-alarm-siren/#findComment-580595 Share on other sites
predator
that is the best place for it... if they're too close to the exposed area, the thief will simply crawl underneath and reach up to snip the wires..before they do the rest of the car. seems a little soft, with my bonet closed i can hear mine clearly 50m or so away. Daz
The best possible place to have it is as close to the ground as you can. It is alot louder this way.
