Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any one is aware of a decent body kit supplier who sells quality kits. I've looked at a number of websites and even ebay and i've come up with full kits for around the $600 mark.

Have kits really come down this much within the last couple of years or is it the quality... I would have expected to pay a minimum of around $1000 for an R33 kit... a mate paid $1200 for an R32 kit so im just curious...

any help would be greatly appreciated

R33 kits aren't exactly rare seeing as how it's the most common skyline ... so if I were you, I'd just keep a close eye on the for sale section and get a genuine/plastic kit .. quality will always be better than any fibreglass copies and not much more expensive either.

cheers thanks for your help guys

You can definately pick up kits for $600 from places but they dont always fit properly and can need alot more work...geuine kits like Trust/Do-Luck etc...cost more but are better quality unless they are cheap replicas

There are various reasons for bodykits varying in price from the cheap to the uber expensive. First of all, price is NEVER a good indicator of the quality.

The manufacturing costs of bodykits vary depending on the location, the material used, location of manufacture and the marketing spin. As with any big Japanese brands you will pay for the name along with paying for the part. So don't fall into the trap that just because it has a label that a) its a genuine item and b) that it will fit like a glove. I have worked with both and have been surprised by both on numerous occasions.

You also have to remember that the cars a lot of these kits are going on are at least 5-10 years old. With age comes tolerance differences from general driving and minor accidents ("but my car has never been in a crash", I hear you say. A few questions for you. Have you owned the car from new? Do you think someone buys a brand new sports car and drives it only to church on Sundays? Do you think all repairs are visible? etc.)

Also material chose is one to be careful of too. Although fibreglass cannot absorb the amount of shock plastic (polyurethane) can, it is easy to repair and customise if required.

I would bank on pretty much ANY bodykit needing some massaging to get a good fit, as every car is different and will have a slightly different fit.

Do your research and find a reputable company that you have confidence with and will take the time to go through your concerns.

Yes we do sell bodykits, however this information is merely a guide for those looking. We understand there are many and varied reasons on who you will chose to buy a kit from, however as we are keen car nuts ourselves we want to equip everyone with the knowledge to make a good decision so that making your car look the way you want it an enjoyable time not a painful experience.
