i had an auto car before i bought my GTR.

obviously, wanting a GTR - i had to have a manual.

maybe im just lazy, or maybe im just over it.. ? but i personally believe manual is over rated.

although you dont even think about shifting and forget your even using a clutch - it just becomes third nature.

still - f**k it unless you have to get manual. auto FTW! :P haha

Nothing is wrong with an auto sports car, dosent mean you have to drive it on a track and if you dont then auto is a good way to go.

definitely glad the gtr was only made in manual, not just because of power but the mechanical/testosterone feel of pumping that stick (seems to come natural to most guys)

i wouldnt hesitate to buying a gtt in auto as a few of my mates have them and i owned an auto r33 s2 as my first car, the shifts were smooth and quick on throttle + after thrashing for 30,000kms+ it survived with no problems and was perfectly smooth with no noises.

looking at a R34 turbo . auto tiptronic wondering are they any good, any problems people know of etc cheers

id rather a manual of course but just throwing it out there ,

I got my stagea with that tip tronic rubbish,and trust me its fun for a week or two then the fun of the steering weel shifts,which are slower,is gone and your left with a sluggish car that will not respond like it should if you really like to drive do not get an auto I know ther cheaper but ther not worth it and being turbo you cant really play with the respone of the turbo,that said ist cost me $3500 to convert my stag and was worth every $ its heaps better to drive,gets an extra 50+100kms out of a tank and to me feels much more enjoyable to drive,thats my 2 cents..

i have a stagea with tip tronic on wheel and the detents to shift with the leaver (+ or -).

personally i find the wheel buttons to be useless and there is a delay in the shift.

i prefer using the actual selector in the console

i always owned a manual car with heavy clutches and the like (still do). but i got the s2 over the s1 stagea because of the shifting options and because the fiance only drives an auto

on a hills run where you ride the boost and drive 80% (which is still damn fast) it is nice to just flick the leaver to change gears and not do accidental shift to 1st or "n" like in average autos which leave you fumbeling half way through a corner trying to look at the leaver and determine wft you just did - although you can still do the 2, 3, D, if you wish

if you wanted to push it and involve yourself in the driving experience then manual is definately the way to go. but sometimes this is just not practical for everyday use, just those select tomes you drive 100% which realistically should only be on a track...

saving that, having an auto is handy - just put your foot down and the car will figure it out, long drives or heavy traffic are no fuss, car can be driven by anyone - i usually just leave it in "d" for drag racing mode and i find it doesn't matter

i love manuals and prefer them to a sloshamatic anyday, but the tip tronic is a good halfway point.

best to put your bum in the seat and try yourself.

    • I'll snap up some photos when I'm back home, in the office today meeting my "in the office" quota. Have 2x Teams calls scheduled in, office culture they reckon.   I've never owned a proper off the shelf sub, I've always made or modified broken ones with Jaycar plate amps and/or car subwoofer drivers. The current (and broken) subwoofer has a proper home driver in it, Dayton driver, thos one https://www.daytonaudio.com/product/118/rss265hf-4-10-reference-hf-subwoofer-4-ohm FS of 25Hz, which is low but not low enough. Yeah, I think they were brought out to the market to compete with SVS. I would love a SVS PB-3000 but they're not cheap, especially after their price hike. From reviews online, it does look like the Tonewinner D6000 would destroy and with good amount of money saved too.
    • yeah, that happens too.  I'm really enjoying 4WDing at the moment, seen a few beautiful spots and want to go explore more of this enormous country.  The 370Z got a clutch LSD in it and a track day, great fun.  Getting the back end sorted out really rejuvenated my enthusiasm for driving it hard, the viscous one is poo especially in such a short and wide chassis.  The VLSD unpredictability was more benign in a long and skinny Skyline.
    • With my pre/power I use a remote trigger cable(3.5mm jack each end). I turn tv on, it turns both on via ARC. Or, just the pre with the remote or its streaming software, turns on both. Not that difficult at all. Obviously,  you would also want to actually update/upgrade over other factors in your life(bills, family, other hobbies, etc)
    • Yeah, nightfall was very "meh". And I'm crap at pvp, so feels like everyone has cheats(it's just my lack of skill). Final shape has been pretty good. New raid and dungeon are pretty good. If you want to give it a go, probably wait until it's on sale. But, as usual, most of it feels very familiar. 
    • This morning was Kingswood's Microscopic Wars. It is the album's 10 year anniversary this year and we went to see them play the whole album as a special show a couple of months back. Was pretty spectacular.
