StinkyPoo
Look for Business hotels, they are normally located near major train stations, have shower/toilets in rooms (not communal). I found a few through JNTO (http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/) and Japanican (http://www.japanican.com/index.aspx). stylz7
Look at either YASEU TERMINAL HOTEL ( 4 star ) - Which is a stones throw away from tokyo central train station, Have stayed here a couple times and is good, a little on the expensive side $180 AUS a night for twin share but your paying for the location. Also have a look at HOTEL UNIVERSE NIHONBASHI ( 3 star ), have stayed here as well and is about 10 - 15 min walk from tokyo central train station. Is accross the road from MAZDA show room, Is fairly cheap $140 AUS twin share a night , Both have great staff and shops close by, would recomend either ! If on a budget then its obvious which one to look at. Hope this helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/277932-accomidation/#findComment-4701238 Share on other sites

Beer Baron
my advice, don't stay near tokyo station. it's not really an exciting place to stay in the city. better to stay near shinjuku, shibuya somewhere like that if you want to be near a JR line, or even roppongi. if you want to be near a transport hub you're far better off at shinjuku. many different lines meet there inc tokyo metro, JR, odakyu and on and on. and it's a busy, exciting place to stay. lots and lots of choices hotel wise in the area. the place doodz recommends looks good too, very cheap for tokyo standards and being near a station that is on the yamanote line means easy transport access to the rest of central tokyo and beyond... and it's close to the Marunouchi subway line too which is very handy to get around tokyo quickly. I totally agree (from my brief time in Tokyo ) I've stayed in Shinjuku, Asakusa and Ginza.... and Shinjuku was just so easy to get to anywhere from the train station. But be warned, the Shinjuku station is a little on the large size! If you like a nice quiet Ryokan, try this one. It's in Asakusa and it's very easy to find. http://www.andon.co.jp/index.html well priced, cheap brekkie, good selection of DVD's at the front desk and there's a Nissan dealership about a 5 min walk away. (but i only saw a Micra in the window ) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/277932-accomidation/#findComment-4769440 Share on other sites
d00dz
One tip with accom. If you have a JR pass try and get accom close to JR stations like within 2-5min walk. Otherwise you'd be lugging luggage 2-5km away. Esp in a Large station and not know which way to go with 10000000's of people zooming by in peak hr.
