I am about to purchase a set of gauges from JDRC, and they've offered me a group buy oppotunity to get it at discounted price.

These gauges are made by S Gear, model is Crenate 2.

Group buy is limited to available stock in their Sydney warehouse, 4 water temp, 3 oil pressure, 3 oil temp gauges, and 3 remotes, unfortunately no boost gauge for this group buy.

They all come with wires, sensor and stand.

They are $125 each for the group buy, remote is extra at $15 each, $360 if you buy a set of 3 and you get a remote for free.

Shipping is free.

Here's a video of how the gauges work:

You can switch illuminated colour between red or white via the remote and set warning beeps, they're 52mm, OD is 58mm.

Water temp and Oil temp are displayed in degree celcius, up to 150 'C, Oil pressure is displayed in Bar up to 12 bar.

I will arrange to have the gauges shipped out as soon as an order is placed, so you don't have to wait until we've gathered everyone.

The group buy will close on Sunday the 26th of July.

Hey there mate can i get some info on the company that you are getting the gauges from. I would like to contact them my self to try and see if i can get a boost gauge. Also it would make other members fell better if there was more information about them before they hand over there hard earned cash.

Cheers,

Ryan

the ABN of the company supplying the gauges is 57202359696

I have PM'ed BOZ22N the phone number for the company contact for his verification.

R31Nismoid let me know if this satisfies your requirement for initiating a legitimate group buy. If not just close it, I'd rather pay $40 extra for the two gauges I'm getting and save myself the hassle.

BOZ22N- thank you for your trouble.

I'm sure I've said in my first post that they're from a business called JDRC.

Put JDRC into google - it returns nothing of value.

Nor does their name: "J Dream Performance Part"

Please supply the BUSINESS Details. Where they are located, and that kinda of info.

No website, no contact info and so on can be found via google/ABN

The search on the ABN doesn't give much other than they are not registered from the GST - Gotta wonder why? They have not even been around 12 months.

What type of warranty is there?

etc etc etc

Forum users wont really get behind a group buy and at this stage its honestly fairly risky if they do.

They are an e-bay trader, JDRC-P is the ebay id, no website at the moment, AFAIK they're still in the process of setting it up, I dont own the company, I dont know the exact address they are registered at.

Yes its a pretty new business, I dont see why we're not allowed to setup group buy from businesses that havent been established for less than 12 mths? I understand it may not be convincing for most people who don't know the business, I have dealt with the owner in the past and its been fine. If this is not ok, then perhaps you should edit groupbuy rules and mention that the supplying business has to meet a certain criteria and you need to provide certain company information.

For a peace of mind, buyers from Sydney could pickup the item if they find it safer that way, and thats what I did when I dealt with them in the past.

Thats also why I've arranged to have them send the products according to individual orders, to show that there was no intention of running away after receiving a full lump sum of payment.

If I can't get anyone for this group buy, then let it be, I just have to pay more for my gauges, afterall, I just wanted to give it a try and see if I can get a discount.

There is warranty but I have to check with them for their warranty policy, since I don't have the details on hand. this is a fair ask and I dont have a problem getting further information on this.

If this groupbuy is causing you too much concern, then I apologise, and close it if you wish.

I understand, so I have tried to post up as much information as possible. I don't own the business, I can only go so far with supplying you business information. Obviously, you can track the business down further with the ABN, ABN is not setup for nothing, yet you seem to prefer a website address?

If you wanted the details of the contact person of the business to verify it I'm happy to PM you the details.

This is how I see it. GB organisers should be taking personal accountability for the GB they've setup. In this case, I've setup the GB, and I'm dealing with the company on behalf of people taking part of it. If you don't trust me or the business with the funds, that's fine, there are options like staying away from it, or I'm happy to organise a pickup like I've said, and maybe even suggesting COD with a small desposit. Is this not good enough?

Now, you can then also question me "who are you as an individual to organise a GB? you could trick a company to think you're arranging a GB for a forum, then still run away with the funds once the GB is closed."

Question is, how far do you want to take it? I have tried my best to provide as much information as possible, I know the forum has rules, and I've provided all the info according to the forum rules in the first post, yet you demand more. I'll try to answer one question and you hit me with another, it just seems never ending.

There are other open group buys which don't even mention company names and I'm yet to see you taking any action.

Please just close this group buy, this GB has been classified as a risky GB by you, and I also feel quite insulted from it. Plus the point of this group buy has shifted to internet safety, there's no longer a point in this GB, I'd rather spend the extra money and save myself from the humiliation of arranging a risking GB or being a potential scam.

Thank you
