My car still exists and still runs quite happily however it has had somewhat of a transformation since Autosalon duties.

After making my 604awkw run back in the day, we took the car to Heathcote and ran a 10.7@141MPH which still couldn't better our previous best of 10.47@133MPH due to traction issues. Videos from Autosalon can be found at

and

Since then my car has gone through another turbo conversion from the big single and NOS to twin lowmount 2860-5s, got rid of the 3 fuel pumps and gone back to a single system and making a comfortable and responsive 347awkw.

Went to Heathcote a couple weeks ago just to see how quick it was now and surprisingly managed to run a [email protected] and 11.3@124MPH. Highlights can be seen at

mine is still around too although when it was at Autosalon early it was Stacey's car.

its making over 1000hp now but will probably end up either a full blown 3/4 chassis drag car or end up like Leewah's...back to being sensible.

I heard word that there won't be a Autosalon this year in any state except NSW due to dwindling numbers, etc.

The magazine isn't fantastic, and even that was struggling last year.

If it wasn't for Hot4's, Autosalon wouldn't exist... and neither would Queen St Smash :(:P

You obviously weren't there when Gas cracked 1000rwkw out of the supra then... RH9 was close behind at 960awkw or something...

As impressive as those numbers are to the school boys They serve no more purpose than the 57 speakers and white upholstery cars. Totally impracticle.

Big hp numbers like that are merely another form of art expression with little or no relationship to a well balanced street/strip/track package.

The majority of genuine enthusiasts will not mourn the passing of shows like auto salon, It was more like a freak show than a car show.

Agreed.

Freaks are interesting.

It's hard not to admire a car like RH9 that puts out nearly 1000AWKW from a 2.6L engine... A lot of money has been spent on that car, the bonnet alone is a genuine Z tune item. Everything outside the dyno cage is pretty boring though.

how about all the osmans wrx pieces of shit they did. Fark they where gay. Especially that yellow bucket of crap they converted to drive in the middle... that was just stupid and a total waste of drug money.

LOL!

From memory it was kinda impractical as well, as the gear shift was in between your legs.

Anyone remember that HVDFLU wrx? seemed to disappear, pretty interesting dyno vid of it here tho lol

hvdflu is forsale because the owner now resides in the goldcoast... his back down every few weeks and takes it for a spin around town

its on pump fuel now around 380awk its about the only showcar you will ever see drift

autosalon flunked it so there are bugger all shows these days,

Yeah I dunno, never remotely been interested in dyno queens or various vomit inducing fluro colours and gaudy chrome rims; it was an expression of drug dealers with nothing else to spend their money on.

Magazine was a POS too, only helped to reinforce popular perception that import owners are douches in yellow jumpsuits trying to imitate Fast and the Furious.

To call that collection of shit art, is to call McDonalds fine cuisine.

    • There are several aftermarket options available, from not-too-painful moneyhttps://justjap.com/collections/driveshafts-bearings/products/d-max-reinforced-replacement-rear-driveshaft-set-fits-nissan-s13-s14-s15-r32-r33-r34-c35 and  https://justjap.com/products/crank-motorsport-billet-rear-axles-fits-nissan-skyline-r33-gts-t-r34-gt-t?srsltid=AfmBOorQk4xkGUa98kO7v2ePLUiNt-HRrM2AwWNw9mbSIVE1ujBVwY__, all the way up to The Driveshaft Shop https://driveshaftshop.com/skyline-cv-axles/
    • Yeah based on old XRC5964S specs, it looks to be roughly GTX3576R sized? But this 5964S compressor will flow 90lb airflow somewhat similar to the compressors in both the GTX3584RS or G35-1050.. I fully expected the 0.64 rear A/R to choke up top - seems way too small from typical convention - but these are seemingly beneficial over the prior 0.82 results.. Be interesting to see if he comments on the EFR question in that thread - he mentioned in a prior video that BW EFR's were the "cats pajamas 10 years ago", but by the sounds of things all his kits have been using Xona for quite a while now.
    • Yeah it’s still got the oem manual gearbox and clutch, only kinda mods are a blow off valve, coil overs, and a aftermarket intercooler. Also had it for about 2 months now with a lovely midnight purple paint on it.
    • Yeeeppp, been following a lot of the testing on the latest Xona stuff and there are some mental results.  He also went over 1000hp @ 4 hubs on his Mainline with a XRE6364S (63mm) which was also well into the 20psi range before 4000rpm on a 2.5. Crazy stuff. Fwiw the XRE5964S is basically the modern equivalent of their old HTA3582 - would drive nicely enough on an RB25 or 26, but proven capable of a huge amount of power if you want to spicy with rpm tho even at sane boost levels will make stout numbers
    • The axels in my R33 seem tired, and have a bit of play in them. I cannot find any new of course, not interested in buying used, but I am looking to see if anyone can identify some cross compatible axles. In the states I have seen suggested for S chassis the J30 axles, however for the skyline (as best I can tell) the lengths are about an inch off (2.5cm) on both sides. R33 my measure L 22" R 24.5" GPT L 22.5" 24.25" J30 L 23.5" 25.5"  so shaft length is probably an inch wider. Not sure if someone has another still remanufactured option besides the J30. I figured worst case I can buy a pair tear them down and swap the center shaft. My other option was reaching out to GSP to see if they cannot piece together a set, since the axle stubs are still manufactured, I wouldn't think it be that hard to find a shaft or make a shaft work.
