Starting Issue

First up in the morning it starts but either runs VERY rough for 10 secs or so or just conks out. Hit the starter again and away she goes no probs

If you are outside the car when someone else is trying to start you can hear the fuel pump zzzzzzzzzzzzzing.

I have had P/R problems with most of my R30, L24e, engines. This sounds like the same problem.

Ideas please.

Am assuming you are RB powered? Also had similar sounding problem with my old rb30 powered Skyline.

Replaced water temp sensor (for ECU not gauge) problem solved.

Also check idle air bypass valve on manifold, this can sometimes become clogged, or jammed. Can sometimes be fixed with a bath in contact cleaner.

A mate's Skyline used to do this when the battery was on its way out, don't know why...

You very rarely hear of fuel pressure reg problems. Fuel pump could be on its way out, internal filter could be blocked, in bay filter could be blocked.
