hey guys i thought i would share my joy with you all, im not saying this will work for everyone, but i had EXCELENT results. i have an r32 rb20 with mild mods, running rich as hell (like most imports) and i was getting between 250-300 k's per tank of fuel. the other day i had some spare time (and was pissed off with shit fuel consumption) so i did 3 VERY simple things to try and fix this....AND IT WORKED for my engine anyway, and i kid you not i have got between 400-450k's out of each of my last 3 tanks of fuel.

1-new plugs. mine were grubby, but nothing crazy

2-thourough cleaning of AAC vavle (this helped clean up the idle as well)

3-i added a bottle of LIQUI MOLY fuel injection cleaner (it takes 1 full tank of fuel before full results are achieved, it wasnt instant)

these 3 simple things have saved me money on expensive PULP and cleaning the AAC valve (somthing everyone should do anyway) smoothed out my idle too!

anyway just thought i would let you guys know, as poor fuel consumption is somthing that most skyline owners know all too well about, and i had such good results with these 3 simple maintenance procedures. cheers adam.

May I also recommend, if it hasn't been done in the last 50,000km, that you change your oxygen sensor. This alone added 80/90km of mileage to my normal petrol usage.

oh f**k im so retarded. lol can i edit the title?

Yep, to "almost double my fuel consumption" I'd carry out these 3 maintenance procedures

i) fill the interior with bricks

ii) wear a lead-lined right boot

iii) dirty-up the AAC

sorry! I couldn't resist - but fond of your thread all the same!

haha

that reminds me, i gotta clean my aac one of these days

hope its not too hard..

mate its not hard at all. go check out the DIY guide, takes 20 mins.

petern- i had great results with the liqui moly. i really didnt expect much from it, but i would highly recommend it to anyone, and for 20 bucks whats not to loose. i will now be adding it to my list of things to do when i service the car every 5000k's. i also find electrical cleaner works a treat for cleaning the AFM. adam
