Will R34 Gtt Manual Wheel Fit S1 Stagea?

Hi All,

Just wanting to know if this will fit and will the airbag be operable?

I am really tired of the bus like S1 wheel.

A S1 Momo factory wheel would have been good, but pricey!

Also what is the best way to make payment to the seller and get it sent to WA?

Any information would help.

Found this picture the other day..question answered.

So I bought one at half the price of a S1 momo.

The GTT s/wheel is a direct fit and feels alot more sporty and comfortable.

Note, it is the same s/wheel as a R34 GTR without the factory emblem.

Thanks for letting us know your results I gather the airbag module plugged right in, no SRS warning lights etc?

It should fit. I have a R34GTR steering wheel in my S1

Yes, I had no problems at all with the air bag module or srs lights.

Just be sure to take out the fuse from the relay to not allow for the airbag to activate.

One more tip is that you will need a 12 mm torx and deep socket to attach the steering wheel.

I ended up installing a late model manual R34 GTT wheel, try to avoid the tip tronic versions although these can also be done.

Ah, bugger... so the airbag is not compatible? What is the different with the tiptronic version wheels? (I found that a 34 one fits series 2 stagea and the tiptronic buttons work also).

Pulling the airbag fuse will render the passenger side airbag inoperable as well?

Dave, I think he just means to pull the fuse while you're changing it over. I could be wrong but that's how I read it.

yeah when i read it i took it as pull it out while you plug it in . not pull it out and leave it out because it doesnt work

Yep, the last thing you want is an airbag going off in your face while you attach the steering wheel.

You will NOT have any time to react if it does go off, and it COULD potentially kill you if you're close enough to the steering wheel at the time - scary, but true.

Just do it dude, its worth it but be carefull.

Most stag steering wheels are old and worn.

R34 gtr, gtt manual are the go, airbag still works fine.

S15 Silvia also works a treat, jsust plug the fuse back in-simple.

Thanks dirtyRS4 I'm glad to hear that the airbag still works.

I've always disconnected the battery when I swap wheels.

That means then, hopefully, that R34 wheels will fit S1 and S2 (as I have had a R34 momo wheel in my S2) and airbags work in both.
