Hi guys just thought I would give you a heads up incase you damage you lower spoiler and need to get it replaced. I had my bumper scratched including the lower spoiler by a Valet car park attendant. They agreed to cover the costs, however the quote I have got to get this done is amazing:

Front Bumper: $2768 (Supply Only)

Front Bumper Lower Spoiler: $2058 (Supply only)

This is without painting. Total repair is $7440.00 with painting, fitting etc. Makes the $999 ebay one quite attractive.

The scratch is not that bad, but the car was new before they did it and as such it is going to be new after the repair.

Lesson: Treat the car with care...repairs are expensive

lol, hope you get to keep the old one too.... then you now have a "track" front end and a "road" front end. or should that be "valet" front end and "Jeff" front end....

I've scratched the bottom of my front lower (lip) spoiler, and i am sure lots more scratches to come!

Out of interest, do you have a part number for the lip spoiler and where can you get them (direct from Nissan?)

If I ever damage my Lower Spoiler, or maybe even sooner, I am bying a CF one-piece for less than half that price to match my new rear wing and bonnet scoops.

If we added up all the component replacement parts Nissan deems so precious, this car would be worth $10 Million in a knocked down form. Then you pay the dealer $200 per hour to put it all together and it will take them a year....

whose carbon goodies are those? quality ok?

Quality and fit are good. Bonnet scoops on already, rear wing will be done on Saturday.

I will post better pictures in full daylight tomorrow.

I will give everyone vendor details and prices once I know these things actually fit. I don't want to give them any more

business until these pieces are confirmed 100%.

They "cunningly" replicate everything with quite an amazing degree of accuracy and perfect finish at 1/3 -1/2 the price of Mine's, Zele etc..

I don't necessarily want all their CF gear at once, but they have Front Spoilers, Bonnets, Boot Lids, two types of rear wing (OEM type you see here and elevated Mine's-type without centre post and brake light), Front Fenders, Fender vents, Engine Covers, Radiator Covers, Side Skirts, the lot!

Carbon looks great on these cars. I just saw a huge pile of carbon bits waiting to go on a new R35 here in Adelaide.

The guy has purchased just about everything from the password JDM catalog & will look awesome when finished.

I would never let a vallet take my r35 in the first place. I don't care, Ill eitehr take my daily to a place that has vallet parking or park somewhere else, where I know its safe.

I am usualy that way, but it was a last minute business meeting at a 5 star hotel in the City. I have never had issues before, however to their credit they owned up straight away and showed me where they had damaged the car, they did not wait for me to find it.

I do have a range of cars I could have taken, however I love to drive the R35, it has become my everyday car now...

    • The 1000ccs are side feeds but they're not currently installed, had my old factory ones in for leak testing purposes, only decided on them because front facing plenums and good top feed rail kits are out of my budget at the moment, are they really that problematic? Had a set of yellow jackets that lasted me 5 years, no real issues, only replaced them chasing this misfire issue that ended up not being ignition related 😄
    • Are those 1000cc side feeds? If so, that's part of your problem. I have 1480cc and they idle at stoich on 98RON, and all the way to E85. Also your coil packs.....
    • Update for the sake of closure   Ended up getting the intercooler piping all sorted, new plugs and yellow jacket coils, and she was idling mint until it warmed up while I was bleeding the cooling system. Found the misfire to be localised to cyl 3 by unplugging coilpacks, ran a compression test, that checked out, then decided to get a mate to check if that spark plug was firing out of the motor. Upon cranking it over, with the injectors disconnected, the car actually fired and ran on a couple cylinders and heaps of fuel came out the top of cyl 3 I'd say that injector's either spraying incorrectly or spraying far too much, which is fine as I'm planning on replacing them anyway I'm planning on making about 250kW on flex fuel, and have a set of 1000cc injectors from ozautosport, obviously overkill but I'm planning on building the motor and running more boost further down the line, do you reckon they'd be too big for a smooth idle on 98? Thanks for the replies gents, much appreciated
    • I'm confused. You said you want to "remove the clear coat from most panels" but it sounds like you are actually doing a full respray? Few random things to add -  If you chase the blistered paint with 120 grit, I can almost guarantee you'll chase it down to bare metal (that's fine). But if you paint the car from here, you'll have nice little indents where ever the blistered paint was. The new paint won't magically level out the low areas, you need to fill them. Which leads me to the main point I wanted to add, make sure the whole car is flat before you paint it. All those areas with blistered paint you sanded out, make sure to fill them and triple check they are flat with a block guide coat. I'd also check the whole car is flat with a large block and guide coat but yeah up to you if you want to go that far.
