so i had a go at this today.. and it was a kent :teehee: i couldnt get it done.

the rod ends that connect to the hicas unit have a 28mm 4 sided bolt and it wouldnt budge. i couldnt get much pressure on it coz of my stabeliser bars

the only way i see it happening to be honest is by getting the hicas arm off at the brake end... but its a squishy ball joint thing. does any one know if it will come apart?

When i installed mine i couldnt split those little ball joints, and the splitter i had was to big and kept slipping off. I ended up undoing the tie rod ends at the rack (the 28mm thingy) and managed to get enough movement either end to pull the HICAS rack out, was still a kent of a thing to get out as there isnt a great deal of movement on the hubs.

yeah fair enough so the ball joints come out?

at the other end of that arm where it connects to the base of the coilover. does that come apart at all? was thinking it would be so much quicker to do it outa the car!

can you get enough room to swing a spanner i you drop the HICAS unit off the subframe? i've only done the hydraulic style ones on sils and 32's. i know the newer ones have an electric actuator on them but you may be able to give yourself a bit of room by dropping it off the subframe.

You need to get the tie rods out of the rack, persist to get them undone. Loosen them, then drop the rack, undo them completley (they will still be inside the rack but undone) pull one side (the hardest bit as there is SFA movement) then the rack will drop down and the other side will pop out.

Get the cancellor and screw one end in nearly all the way, then the other side. Dont do them up tight until you have bolt the cancellor to the cradle. Then tighten everything up and adjust ur toe.

Make sure you dont damage the thread on the tie rod ends where it screws into the rack.
