I like in that article how they say if you have a "flashy" car and abide by the road rules that you wont have a problem, but if you have a heavily modified vehicle and are involved in hoon behaviour then they will get you. Well what if you have a heavily modified vehicle but obey the road rules, does that mean you will be ok??.... i dont think so. And yes that is a 32 in a couple of the pics.

131 444..isnt that the quick response police number...bit odd me thinks!

Never thought id say this, but i agree with what one of the NS boys said, next time you see some middle or old aged driver doing less than the marked speed limit, disobeying keep left rules, failing to indicate and jamming on the breaks at the last moment to turn because there eye sight is so poor they cant see street signs, then call the number and dob them in, there just as dangerous in my opinion if not more so!

Basically anyone can call this number and dob on anyone for anything, and i imagine if you have more than one person make a complaint about something then your probably going to get a visit where they are most likely going to ask to see the car and in turn no doubt give you a pretty yellow sticker for your troubles. The problem with that as i see it though is you could have an ex girlfriend you have pissed off, or a grandma next door neighbour that goes to bed at 6pm ring up and get you in trouble just because they have something against you! From a legal point of view doesnt it come down to "my word against yours" when theres no proof, and what happened to the biggest one of all innocent until PROVEN guilty???

lol thanks Krishy, but that there is a perfect example of my point, it would be as easy as that for someone to get someone else in trouble! And its impossible for me to be doing that right now, i cant get it out of the garage cos its being blocked by nenes 260 with a flat battery! Apparently when i got the front bar resprayed they must have left the door open with the light on cos it was running when i picked it up, then i took it home and switched it off and then went to start it the next morning and got nothing, me thinks they jump started it before i got there! Doh!

But same again, perfect example of what i was saying, what happens when it is my word against yours, will the authorities automatically jump on the side of the caller?? And in anycase it will probably still end up with your car being inspected and being done for something even if it didnt have anything to do with the initial complaint. And whats the laws on your car being inspected on your own property? Are they allowed to, do they require some sort of waranty if its locked away? And could you argue that its not being taken out on the road like that etc??

And Talbo, you wouldnt be the only one that would be in that situation, how many nosey neighbours and granny's will call the number just because they deem your car to be too loud when you come home at midnight when you would also be able to hear a pin drop in most neighbourhoods, just because your coming home late doesnt make you a hoon.

On 20's and 25's yes, they are on the crossover pipe. On the 26's however, they sit behind the front bar :P

The 260 is the same Luke, i've already had one discussion with a police officer about the fact he implied i had hidden BOV's and that they must be aftermarket. I still dont think he believed me even after i explained that they were stock and in the factory location.

And there in lies the problem, he didnt know what he was looking at and if he wanted he could have sent me to regency for them to confirm it, fortunately he was reasonable and let it go.

I think alot of us will needing to be doing the same thing in the near future! No point in trying to hide anything these days cos they are allowed to look and you will no doubt end up in more trouble for trying to conceal it!

      Man that dinner was such a long time ago....2010! I would only replace the rubber coolant lines with silicone these days; cheap, readily available and will last for ever.       I wouldn't look too hard at what they did with the R32 GTR in endurance racing in Australia... Lots of things weren't actually available from the factory in the way those cars ran them... Japan also followed what Fred Gibson was doing here with some of there endurance cars in Japan... Australia is also the reason for things like the Brembo brakes, and the change in the gearbox... And quite a few other tricks they used to pull. There's a few other SAU peeps still on these forums that will have heard the stories direct from Alan Heaphy, Fred Gibson, and Jim Richards when we were lucky enough to have a great dinner with them

      For all the talk of "these parts are junk" I generally recommend OEM because it's really not as bad as claimed. I have never seen or heard of a case like the N63 where the oil returns completely clog with coked oil for example in ~10 years or less. Would it be nice if it were a straighter path? I guess, but most modern cars use a scavenge pump instead of a pure gravity return. Also the factory lines that would be relatively simple to convert to braided are generally speaking hardlines from the factory. I would consider braided line to be a regression, not an improvement. It's also been engineered such that all the hardlines have appropriate strain relief where needed. There's absolutely room for improvement, for example the HKS advantage heritage intake piping shows just how much can be done to make the turbos fight each other less in OEM twin turbo configuration and reduce compressor surge but it's rarely a simple/straightforward process. I recommend looking at what the group A/N1 cars did, generally speaking the changes they made were necessary and proven in endurance racing.

      Yes, multi relays needed, and possibly a diode. I'm not actually going to think about it though.
