Modifiying Stock Afm ( Is There A Way)

Its probs be discussed already but coldnt find anything.... is there a way to modify the stock AFM so it can take more air... was just reading how the resistance is what the computer reads , can this been increased by say increasing the size and width of the wire

just throwing the idea out there surley there is an electrcian that would no something

ye it can be done - VL owners back in the mid/early 90's added in extra resistors into the line to make it read varying voltages etc.

Its super back-yard spec though and not 100% reliable.

Why not just buy a new AFM?

The problem you still have is the AFM now you posses is 10-20yrs old and will fail eventually (most do), so wasting money/time with an old one doesn't really help in the long term.

You can also have them re-calibrated, however same as above - they are still old and once the fail - its cheaper to buy a new set rather than 2 re-calib sets.
