Hi All,

I have just acquired an R33 GTR in the classic Japanese racing white. The vehicle has had a fair bit spent on it including the addition of some gauges.

Specifically it has an Autometer Carbon Lite air intake gauge fitted in a A-Pillar pod.

When I turn the ignition key and provide power to the gauge, the needle swings around to the maximum and stays there.

I have removed the wires running from the sensor to the interface box but the guage still does the same thing.

Can anyone suggest a cause for this or is it simply a broken unit??

If broken, are they worth repairing given the online price seems to be around $350 +??

Thanks.

Ouch! $350!

Good luck with it I hope you work it out!

I don't know how the Autometer gauges work, But If it is unrepairable you could do what I and many others have done, find (on egay for example) a 2ch k-type thermocouple thermometer, and 2x k-type thermocouples with 5m long leads. The only problem is that it looks like a multimeter(FUGLY!), I only have mine in the car for testing when i change something. Very handy though with readouts for T1, T2, or T1 minus T2, for temp difference between 2 points.

I think I spent about $60 all up with 4 temp probes..

Hi again,

Does anyone have anything on these gauges?? I have now found out they aren't being made anymore by Autometer and the remaining stock floating around Aus is about $644.

Can anyone shed any light on this situation??

Thank
