It'll handle 1000hp if you baby it.

It comes down to how you put the power into it man.

Drive it normally and it'll be okay, sidestep it at 7,000 rpm on a dragstrip and say goodnight to it.

I've seen RB20 boxes blow with stock engines in the hands of an idiot.

They aren't the strongest out there. If you want to abuse your vehicle, drop an RB25DET box in.

100% agree with Allen...it's all about how you drive it. There are 1000hp Commodores running factory T5's, but they are babied. Stock Commodores can destroy a T5 no worries. Same applies for all cars.

It's near impossible to say how much power your box can handle without observing your driving style first. But yes you can upgrade to an RB25DET box...should bolt up to the engine no worries (?) but you might have issues with tailshaft length.
