Starting to think about coilovers for the sedan. Aiming for low speed drift events like archerfield. Would like s13 front and rear 8kg & 6kg. Rear from what I gather is piss easy, just need to change the tops to r30/hr31 and they slip straight in.

As for front... don't want s13 hubs, they seem unnecessary on DR30's wich I believe share the same suspensions as c210. Is there an easy/cost effective way to upgrade the pitman arm on a c210?

Not too fond of custom front struts, keep that idea as a last resort..

the s13 setup is the easier way to go, mainly because you can buy them just about anywhere. DR30 stuff is getting harder to find by the day.

keep in mind that if you want to convert to 5stud( more rim choices) you will need s14 hubs, not s13. I'm fairly certain SWM do a 5stud rear conversion.

when you can buy a full set of coilovers for around the 1k mark, why bother with custom struts?

i dont under stand why you want to change the pitman arm?

do a search, its all here somewhere. ive read it many times before.

Silent shadow, nice, there is a nostalgic jap meet in october at strathpine I'll be entering with some Auszoku boys, should bring your coupe along.

I will only ever need 4 stud for the wheels that I am interested in fitting.

Custom FTL! I like paying for jap quality control, damper adjustments are usually better too.

I've been told the pitman arm isn't quite up to the task after s13 coilovers are installed??

Gordie, I want to find some aftermarket cusco hr31/dr30 strut tops.. should post up the process with pics, or just let us know how you go.

has anyone actually fitted a s13 front end and can give accurate info on how well it works? especially regarding bolting up to tie rods, castor rods, LCAs, steering ratio with pitman arm versus s13 knuckles / lock stops, brake lines ect

Can everyone excuse my ignorance and will someone lightly explain to me what coilovers are. I know they're to do with suspension/ struts but how do the differ from what I have now on my 210? What is the benefits?

You can just tell me to go look it up on the net if you want( slinks off)

"coilovers" are aftermartet struts, with usally have hight/camber/damper adjustments. make it easyer for setting up the car for the way you need.

when changing to s13 one then you also get a brake upgrade at the same time, as you need need to use s13 knuckles/brakes. and can also upgrade to 4 piston calipers easy as.

    • Hi all. So one of my major issues at the moment is my rear turbo leaking oil on the exhaust (and the general area). I presumed it was the rock hard super old drain hose, which it was not. So now I am in the midst of removing the rear turbo to get access to the banjo bolt that goes into the turbo oil feed. As one of the previous owners accidentally? tore off the OEM oil feed hardline that reaches behind the turbo, they ran braided lines directly to the turbo, presumably PTFE. Now, regardless if the line has rubber or teflon inside, is it just generally a bad idea to do this? I imagine these lines get quite hot being between the engine, turbo core and exhaust manifold. I suppose it's not too far fetched to think the line may even have melted. I'd love to hear your opinions on this as as the replacement OEM hardline piece is 130 per unit. And cutting open the currently mounted line to see inside will mean I just have to get a replacement either way. So far I am hoping maybe the bolt just loosened or (god forbid) they forgot one of the crush washers.
    • If it's a factory 20de manual probably has the 6 bolt flywheel in which case the det clutches won't work as they're 9 bolt.
    • All RB push clutches are interchangeable. AFAIK, the 4cyl ones are not. Different flywheels. The RB small box is not identical to the 4cyl boxes. Just very similar.
    • Hi. I need a new clutch for my gearbox. It is a factory smallbox behind RB20DE NEO. What options do i have? If iam not mistaken the gearbox should be the same as in R32 GTST and Nissan S14/S15? I found some Xtreme Clutch Stage 1 for S14/S14 (i dont know if you know the brand) (UK) OR...is the clutch same as in the bigbox from RB25DET?   Thank you!
