Hi, been started my project R31 for a while and today I done the first step: swap the old VG30 turbo to a R33 turbo, I have no idea which model the turbo is I reckon it might be series 1 got a 45v3 engraved.

Now, I got a problem with the Actuator:

The Actuator on old VG30 hooked back to the turbo itself, but on R33 turbo there is no hole which I can not connect the Actuator thru an rubber hore back to the turbo itslef. so at this stage how should I line the Actuator to make it work properly?

Also which one should I keep for further using, the Actuator on the VG30 or the one on R33?

Thanks.

ok, your post is very confusing.

so your problem is that you dont have a fitting on the R33 turbo to connect the Wastegate actuator to the turbo?

im now assuming that you dont have the elbow that comes off the R33 turbo, as this is where the fitting is connected,

easiest way would be to find one of these elbows, if not your most likely gonna need to do some customising

Sorry, I just start learning how to work with each parts so wasnt too accurate...

see the picture I already circled two red bits, on my old VG30 the pointing 1 connect to 2 which its on turbo, but on my new R33 turbo, there is no fitting hole where I can put an rubber hose from pointing 1 back to 2? thats the part Im tryin to figure out?

oh you just mean the vaccum hose connection. none of the rb25 turbos had a fitting there as far as i'm aware. just hook it up to any vaccum line, such as the line to the bov, etc and it will work, however i recommend getting a nipple put into the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler.

hey mate,

im not trying to correct you or anything and please correct me if im wrong,

but wouldnt you have to have the vacuum hose connected to somewhere that is reading boost, prefferably as close to the turbo as possible, as to minimise over boosting.

thats why on most turbos they are as close to the turbo as possible.
