might be worth looking in to what would you roughly be looking for them to bend up a basic cage if they are not to expensive

thanks tim

A 6 point bolt in cage with harness bar for a S13 Silvia was $1050. Add $240 for side intrusion bars. I imagine an R33 would be slightly more due to the extra size but shouldn't be a great deal more.

They charge over a $1000 to install though, so would be best to do this yourself or get someone to do it for you which is what I am looking at doing.

and will be starting to port the head soon

still undecided on alot of things

like is it worth buying a front lsd

or should i changed the rear diff from active lsd to 2 way lsd

or if i should go dry sump this time

Great build so far!

I am interested in how you go with the rear diff, I was hell-bent on getting rid of my A-LSD on my Vspec but recently I have changed my opinion on it. I got in contact with a guy from the States and he uses it on track spec GTR's over there. There is a sticky in the Drivetrain section on A-LSD maintenance which I am keen to try.

If I were going to get a LSD from the front I would look at the Quaife option.

Anyway, good luck.

i originally wanted to keep my active lsd with my old car so i got it rebuilt and it was good again for about 4 track days but last time i went out it was strarting to single spin again thats why ive been considering changing it but i might have to look in the drive train section thank for the help

as for the quaife lsd that would be the one i got three of my mates have them and any lsd that has a lifetime warranty sounds good to me but so far quaife havent helpied to my emails so i might have to try looking some where else to get one

Sorry this might be off topic but if you wouldnt mind letting me know what you had done in rebuilding the A-LSD, you can PM if you like.

I think Just Jap have the Quaife LSD's for sale, but I would buy direct from them if you can (make sure you get that warranty).

a bit of a update i ordered n1 water and oil pump today and adjustable cam gears ill get photos when i get some good progress or parts start turning up

and also the car is completely stripped minus the dash and the doors and suspention and im about to start seam welding it

what im wondering is it better to stich weld it or completely seam weld it

ive herd good and bad about both stiles any imput would be appreciated thanks tim

ok any reason why you say no to the n1 pump

A disproportional number of them seem to fail. I don't know the technical reason or if there even is a technical reason - i've just seen and heard about a very high number of N1 oil pumps failing compared to tomei. Perhaps someone wiser can enlighten us.
